Detroit allowed the 12th most goals in the league last season with bad goaltending and league worst PK. The PK can't get any worse, and if Gibson is better than Husso and Lyon, Detroit is an average defensive team. The real problem has been their 5v5 offense and depth scoring.

Stop saying Dach will not be ready for the start of camp. That is not accurate at all.
Dach has minimal value at this point. I respect Vlasic and his long time service to the Sharks. However, his play has been AHL caliber last 3 seasons, so he can't be surprised at how things ended. The fact the Red Wings have done nothing to improve their D core is mind boggling.
That Montreal/Toronto trade seems very unlikely. Unless Hughes is stockpiling for another trade, I can't see any advantage in that
