I'll believe it when I see it, what was supposed to be a promising off-season has been very disappointing.
Watching mtl get Dobson, Utah get peterka, all free agents of interest didn't hit the market. Than it was rust, rakell rumors on to the McTavish rumors.
I'm not holding my breath, I expect the team we see now is the team we see in October.
If I wake up one morning and a trade happens great, but at this point I'm just glad Yzerman didn't force anything in free agency after the top guys where not available, just filled holes with minor moves.
I'm looking at the core and if any of them take a step and if any young guys earn their way on to the team at some point
Yzerman isn’t gonna do anything unless it’s a 13th forward or another 7th defenceman.
Jason Robertson wasn't on the 4 nations team
Marek isn't the same without Friedman.
We talk about this practically every day but nothing gets done, and something seriously need to.
I understand what you’re saying about “big fish” but Gibson was a big deal, best goalie on the market. I hope ASP is not on the table, too much potential and the need so shore up the D core.
I’d be at least willing to see what someone like cossa could bring, but both him and Augustine have a lot of potential and I kinda hate to see either be traded then turn into a stud somewhere else. 🤷♂️tough calls.
While the pro scouting / signings may not have been the best, you can’t argue that Yzerman’s drafting has been top notch, even without #1 picks- there’s an argument to be made about getting top 2 in a redraft in a couple of those drafts.
Pretty sure, knowing eyes are men.He has plans for certain guys from grand rapids making the team and he probably thinks they're better than these trade options. You know what he's probably right. Because there were not many trade options and there weren't any free agents left. All of the free agenrs he wanted, well none of them actually left their own teams.
Every single video you make is a non thing burger
Unoriginal repeating trash
These casual fans that have nothing better to do than make stupid complaints about why Yserman is making bad moves are very short sighted. Virtually all of the moves except for Dabrincat were really just About term and putting players on the ice, that were fillers; so we could ice a team while the young players developed. In case you haven't noticed, the players haven't developed yet. Because they're still super freaking young. Every year one or two of those guys comes up and they play really good raymond Seider Edvinson Soderbloom Kasper…..on and on. Maybe this year it'll be MBN, or one of our dmen, etc. Perfect timing , many of these supposed bad signings will be out of contract by the time we bring in our yourh. Sounds like an intelligent plan to me. As for the vets, they are extremely important for youth to develop. Sittler, Dougay, Park Snepps, Coffee ….S.Y. saw many vets when he developed . Did you want to do it like Buffalo and Edmonton ; and never win because the kids have no clue. BOWMAN always brought in vets. He loved them. That is why he was the best. He knew the truth. Get a youthful core and fill in around them with high value vets to win cups. then get rid of one or two and bring in 1 or 2 more younger ones. Rinse and repeat ! Patience is a virtue !!
Steve is batting 1000 with his draft picks, I don’t think he will be spending big dollars on veterans when he may have at least two prospects join the team that can put them in the playoffs this season.
He’s not done because he knows he needs a top 4 d man and or a top 6 winger. If the wings had both there are definitely a playoff contender. The real issue is when will this happen and I doubt it happens before the first puckers dropped.
Lets get to the meat of the matter. When they hang Sergei from the rafters in January, will #91 being on the LR9 team?
The Wings got screwed by the draft lottery. Sure, there have been a couple bad deals, but none have crippled the Wings and will be off the books soon. The length of this rebuild REALLY comes down to 2 things. The first thing is having Ken Holland running the ship for the first half. Sure, he drafted Larkin.. but beyond that his drafting was atrocious. Rasmussen, Svechnikov, Cholowski, Zadina, Veleno.. he whiffed on all of those drafts. The second reason the rebuild has taken so long is the draft lottery. Detroit hasn't picked in the top 3 since 1991. The best we got through the whole rebuild was 4th overall. Every other team that has rebuilt alongside or after Detroit has been rewarded in the lottery. The Habs, Hawks, Ducks, Sharks, Devils.. all got multiple top 3 picks. So yeah.. that's pretty much it. Yzerman has hit on every 1st round draft pick he's made so far. If he gets a player like Seider at 6th, imagine what he'd do with a couple top 3 picks.. or better yet.. a 1st overall pick.
Good God, please let the season start so we can not hear this ridiculous off season bitching and inane speculation every day that Yzerman is on the "hot seat"
All lazy Stevie does is “tinker” with his team. He needs a culture change in his locker room, but he won’t go there.
Our redwings are straight trash. Yzermans tenor is about to be done hopefully.
Cosa for McTavish?
Too many Yzerman-fans that won’t look at Yzerman without their fan-boy, rose-colored, he-can-do-no-wrong, objective analysis. My favorite Wing but pretty disgusting. He has missed on SO much and he doesn’t win straight up trades other than Debrincat who forced his way back home. At what point do these fan boys start holding him accountable? I know, I know——“the cupboard was bare”….”look what Holland left”….blah, blah, blah.
