I think it’s a few things
-Not the best climate in comparison to FLA or Cali
– the late 90s ownership debacle hurt the rep
– not much playoff success for a long time
– Nassau just an old facility— I’m sure when visiting players came they laughed at how out of date it was
-NJ dealt with this too, everyone wanted Rangers if they were going to be traded to the area.
I don’t think that’s the current view of the team however but who knows!
