Mckenna is a longshot even if we finish last. Pasta is in his prime and is arguably the best wing in hockey. For those reasons I am all in on a young player like Mctavish, the draft is a total crap shoot and if youre banking on the draft, you are trading Pasta and going on a full decade long rebuild. The timeline doesnt work for these prospects to help out for Pasta. Mctavish is a proven center who has plenty of room to grow. Not sure he is a 1c but he is far better than anyone the Bruins have. If Toronto pick is a 20th overall, a Mctavish type player is about the best you can hope for, with plenty of chance to bust. Why not just spend a bit more and get the known quantity that can help this team immediately
Anderson makes no sense. You have to give up a ton to get him, and he doesn't solve their major problems. Plus he has already turned down one trade this summer, so there is no reason to believe he would be willing to come to Boson. And you would have to give him 6-7 years at a sizeable contract increase
In terms of McTavish. It would cost a ton to get him. You are likely talking Zacha (need to free cap space to sign him), would need to add a Bruins #1, and then More than that. Your proposal of the Toronto pick a prospect, and another middling pick, isn't even going to be in the ballpark, and doesn't give you the cap space to sign him, as You will need to free up an additional 6 million in cap space to give him the type of contract he wants.
If Divver says “ya know” one more time…..😝
Come the deadline Sweeney will be itching to trade away those picks, saying the team earned it. I'm already annoyed they traded Carlo for a third line center with less upside than Frederic and a late first rounder. That pick better be value for 5-10 years.
If it's in a deal for Mctavish absolutely, already proven to be able to contribute at this level, this age & at a position the franchise needs….a known commodity not like an 18 year old question mark
Why would we trade our 1st? It’s probably gonna be top 10 this year. When will Sweeney understand that we should rebuild.
Only player currently on the market that id trade our 1st for is McTavish or L.Hughes. Anderson isn’t worth a 1st that is a possible top 10
From western Canada: Mckenna is a very good hockey player BUT don’t expect him to be a saviour of a franchise, good player but easy folks….
Yes, take Rasmus Anderson
