#Edmontonoilers #oilers #nhl #connormcdavid #mcdavid

With the NHLPA pushing him to take the max (and his negotiation team for whom the bigger the amount the more they get so…).
the nicest contract he could give the team is taking the exact same as Driasaitl
13,000,000 would be sweet for 1 year. Then give him the money next contract
You're point is both idiotic and brilliant. It's true. If you have Bowman an extra $4 million to spend right now, what would he do it? Nothing useful, most likely. However, down the road, there will be opportunities that require spending money. We don't know what they'll be right now but they will come. Maybe Jacob Markstrom becomes available. He's old but kinda what the Oilers need for the next two years. I wouldn't necessarily write-off how useful some extra millions could be. Personally, I think McDavid's most sensible option is to sign a 1 year bridge deal for his current amount. It'll set-off an air raid siren for management but also prove his commitment by taking a $5 mil paycut and set him up to hedge his bets. Management can pick up a goalie and McD can try to extend this current Cup window. They'll either win or they won't. If the Oil haven't pulled it off by the end of '27, they're probably not doing it during the McD era. At that point, McD can move on. However, if they do miraculously come together and win or at least keep getting to the finals (with the Mangiapani/Howard/Savoie crew), McDavid can then resign for league max and wind up making nearly as much anyway.
So how about this idea for McDavid: He walks in free agency to make sure the team he walks to has the best possible roster (no players lost as a return in a McDavid trade). And where does McDavid go? To the Florida Panthers. Yes. The enemy Cats. Why? How? Well, because Bobrovsky's $10 mil contract will be up and the cap is increasing by $5 mil. In a scenario which virtually guarantees a Cup win for Connor, he'd be more than happy to sign for $15 million for one or two years down south. Florida could make this work. McDavid could make this work. Both parties should pursue it like mad.
Well if McDavid needs to take less Then Nurse And Bouchard Should both take about 4.5 to 5 million less cause neither are worth what there getting Think of What Edmonton could do with that along with McDavid giving up some And don’t forget about the other millions on the team
Connor needs help 2 win—but Sid took a pay cut because he was very serious about winning….. I dont blame the player for taking the Bag…… Incompetent management before Holland has really hurt the OILERS & their lack of Depth….. Losing Broberg/ Holloway Never should have happened……. !st round picks DO NOT GROW ON TREES…..
