  1. Blimel has the better chance having pasta’s support. But knowing Boston they will put him as the extra forward and he will sit in the press box for 90% of the season.
Boston has so many bottom six forwards it is going to be a long season (hope I am wrong). They haven’t fixed the scoring issue, yes all the defense is healthy but even if you give up 1 or 2 goals a game if you can’t score 2-3 goals you still lose.

  2. Thanks for catching us up on these guys. They've been a mystery.

Was trying to figure out why Dallas didn't keep Blümel?
Seems he'd be worth making room for on the roster, he's not expensive.
    That made me wonder 🤔

Seems like Blümel wanted to play in black and gold either with Crosby or Pasta.
Glad he picked the original black and gold!

I don't know enough about Steeve's other than to welcome him, hit hard, have fun!

    All will be revealed…

    Good stuff.
    👍

  3. Camp opens in a couple weeks!!!! Woo hoo!!!! I don't care if the B's put Big Bird on the roster. I just want hockey back.

  4. Low risk options like Blumel make sense given the Bruins poor situation.
They can call it a retool but it sure looks like a rebuild. Build through the draft which is not really a strong point for Sweeney.

  5. Wouldn't we all have egg on our face if Sweeney is quietly building the supporting cast that will already be in place on it's way to being a winner? All it could take is a few key signings in upcoming free agencies to put them over the top…and Jeremy Swayman living up to his expectations. I mean, he did orchestrate the most winningest team in NHL history just a few years ago. We'll see if he's given a long enough leash. He could be the next Peter Chiarelli, lol.

  6. This would be a plus if he can have sucess !! For the Bruins to have sucess, they have to have some surprises.

  7. It seems to me bruins are moving in the right direction they got plenty of picks coming up and prospects pool right now is way better .

  8. Bruins management are using the old Leafs strategy…it won't work. I hope the Bruins have an amazing season but it will be nothing short of a miracle to even get a wild card spot. Go Bruins!!!

  9. Ok, you are Blumel and Dallas is the team you are trying to crack. Tough to do given their line up. Ok, you are Lysell and Boston is the team you are trying to crack. And Bruin sucked last year….if Lysell was in Dallas’s system……he wouldn’t be in the conversation.

  10. Well, at least Blumel is not the usual lunch-pail type player the Bs seem to embrace .. he gets the roster nod.

  11. So, are Blumel and Merkulov both AHL all-stars trying to make the Bruins NHL team this year? Is Blumel's size & scoring style what make him preferable to the B's? Anything else? Have we gotten any indication that Sturm doesn't plan to put call-ups who can score on the 4th line?

  12. I feel the greatest weakness was never addressed and that is locker room/on-ice leadership. Something happened to the culture of the locker room last season that I still don’t know what happened and how.🤷🏻‍♂️ there was a complete prolapse. Our coach and Captain, fired. The leadership core, traded. That locker room could not be led or motivated IMHO. I truly feel that veteran leadership such as thr available Corey Perry and Johnathan Toews broke my heart that they didn’t come here. I wonder if they were even offered a spot in Boston. Those two (or one of them) could have stepped into the Captain’s “C” immediately and teach & mentor the young team with their knowledge and huge amount of Playoff experience. I just subscribed and looking forward to hearing what you got to say this season. I remain without hope yet I welcome the team to prove me wrong. Cheers!

  13. The one way contract, like you highlighted, indicates he has a strong shot of making the opening night roster.

Steves seems destined for the AHL. We have a plethora of bottle six forwards.

  14. I think Steeves is for sure an AHL lifer – but this is the kind of swing you NEED to take when you're in Boston's position – good stuff court

  15. As a Czech, I know Blümel a lot, saw him playing several times. He deserves a chance, hopefully they will give it to him so he could show us some great hockey.

  16. Blumel sticks. Bruins are going to be bad unless 3 young guys pop. If they don't the Bruins will not have the depth. I think Blumel gets a top 6 chance. I watched his AHL highlights on YouTube. Guy can shoot.

  17. I think the Bruins are depending way too much on someone stepping up. True, they do have a lot of potentially good players coming up, but you can't rely on that. I can't wait for hockey to start, but I don't see a lot of potential in this team. Bruins fan regardless.
