He is not signing with the Oilers………one need not be a genius to understand what he is saying.
If he is smart, he moves on. He can get all the money he wants anywhere. The Oilers had two chances to win it all and couldn't. If he stays, no more than a one or two-year contract.
Can someone please tell me why Connor won't want to test free agency as the best player in the world at the prime of his career?

Katz is the problem….and it's about money. If 8×20 was on the table, it would be done. It isn't. For 4 years, it's probably 18.5. Katz spends to the cap now, but will he in 3 years when it's 113$mil? He screwed up the Holloway/Broberg situation last year…is he going to screw this up too?
The fact there has been this much doubt in his quotes makes it clear to me that he’s gone and bob, as much as I love him, was told to do damage control from OEG exects. Gaudreau(RIP) and Tavares had eerily similar quotes. Hopefully McDavid has as much of a spine as tkachuk who atleast had the balls to tell Calgary he wasn’t coming back and got them a very good deal in return..
I wouldn't be surprised if McDavid doesn't feel like he's worth as much as he could be because of the way he performed last season.

Put McDavid on the trading block and see what you can get for him before its too late… Next thing you know he's leaving next summer for nothing, it shouldn't take this long too re-sign its a straight forward negotiation with a blank cheque in front of his face so why is it taking so long for him to put his name on it?
