Bobby Orr is the nicest athlete I’ve ever met. The guys just a good person all around. Met him at a minor league hockey game as a kid – he invited me to sit with him at his table as he ate dinner (restaurant at the rink during games). He signed my Bourque jersey (I was 10 lol) and chatted with me for a good 20-25 min. At the end he asked me to write down my address on a piece of paper and give it to him. I wrote it, Bobby Orr put the piece of paper in his jacket pocket… 2 weeks later I received 30” long cardboard tube; Bobby Orr had signed “The Shot” photo “to Andy, best luck always. Bobby Orr”. The man personally took the time to send that to me. It was 25 years ago and I still love that story and have had my Bobby Orr autograph front and center on my wall!!
Greatest hockey player of all time.
I was fortunate enough to watch a few games, ice capades, and circuses there. The place was a dump, but it was as historic as Fenway Park. The TD garden will never be a fraction as good as the Boston Garden.
I practically grew up in the Garden! I miss the Pizza in the "Basement" near the Cage!
I went to many Bruins games in the old garden. Only got to see a few of them..
He was in a box @ game 1 vs Toronto last week, he looked great,..lace em up Bobby!!
