With the Modesto Nuts moving within the California League, the Visalia Rawhide (formally Visalia Oaks) becomes the most senior city within the league – having fielded a team for 77 of the 83 years the league has been in existence. Hope Modesto can somehow get their team back. If Visalia ever lost their Oaks/Rawhide, it would be such a sad, sad day.

I’m so happy that our AAA team (Syracuse) is finally switching from the Mets to some bizarre name I know they’re gonna come with. All we need now is St. Lucie to switch there’s and we’ll be immaculate with names (SO Cyclones and Rumble Ponies 😂)
A follow-up video with some honorable mentions would be good. On this list should be the Portland Sea Dogs (AA/Boston), whose name evokes the maritime heritage of Maine's largest city. The logo was originally teal since it was initially the Marlins' AA farm team but was changed when it affiliated with the Red Sox. Their home, Hadlock Field, was built around the century-old Portland Expo Hall (home to the Celtics' G-League team) and boasts a mini replica of Fenway Park's iconic Green Monster in left field.

MiLB has also been having a lot of fun with team mascots as well, worthy of a video Brodie… While the Arkansas Travelers of Little Rock may be a standard name dealing with a traveling mistral singing group, they have a horse and a swamp possum… Many teams have a horse for a mascot, but only one has a swamp possum for a mascot I am aware of… Eastern Arkansas mostly being a farming delta of low ground unlike mountainous western Arkansas…

BTW, all these logos look like they were designed by the same college freshman in Art Design 101. But I love minor league baseball and I'm sad for Modesto losing their team. (I'm a Mariners fan.)
Before Ft Wayne changed to the current Tincaps the Wizards was consistently one of the tops in the minors for merchandise sales also don't forget the Las Vegas 51's was a a great nod to arra 51 and also was among tops in merchandise sales in all the minors

If you ever do a list like this for other sports, I'd suggest FC Santa Claus – a soccer team in Finland.
I have been to six of the teams mentioned ballparks and here are some comments about each.
1. Modesto – Mascot names are Wally (Walnut) and Al Mond (almond). Sad to hear that the team is moving.
2. Montgomery – Great ballpark, part of it was the old train station. The slogan is "Biscuits Rise" and you can buy cheesehead-like biscuit hats. They serve amazing biscuits everywhere at the park.
3. Lansing – The ballpark is between two parallel roads (North Cedar Street and North Larch Street), which makes you feel like you're watching a game in the median of a highway. There is also an apartment complex called The Outfield out beyond the outfield fences.
4. Richmond – Stadium is about 40 years old and very dated. It was built for the Richmond Braves (AAA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves before the team moved to Gwinnett). Many of the 90's Braves team stars (Chipper Jones, Tom Glavine,) etc spent time in Richmond.
5. Akron – Great downtown ballpark (Canal Park). Got to see them play Tim Tebow when he played for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
6. Rocket City – Great new ballpark in Madison, AL. Best mascot name and merchandise in the Minors.
I have visited about 40 MILB parks and have too many favorite team names to list. These are my top ten (Excluding the ones that Brodie listed) 1. Asheville Tourists. 2. Chattanooga Lookouts 3. Augusta Green Jackets 4. Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 5. Nashville Sounds 6. Wilmington Blue Rocks 7. Macon Bacon (not to be confused with the minor league hockey teams called the Macon Whoopee) 8. Bowling Green Hot Rods 9. Brooklyn Cyclones 10. Columbia Fireflies.
Isotopes named after a Simpson's episode. 'nuff said. Better than "The Dukes."

One correction – the Amarillo Sod Poodles are the AA affiliate of the Diamondbacks, not the Padres (the San Antonio Missions are the Padres AA team).
R.I.P. Modesto Nuts
Looks like the Blue Wahoo escaped being caught since it looks like a broken fishing line. I was born and raised in Amarillo and NEVER have I heard anyone refer to a prairie dog as a "Sod Poodle". But, it's unique and the kids love it. And, Amarillo is now the Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
I loved this episode. I’ve attended games of a couple of the teams, the Mud Hens and Isotopes. I should have bought some swag.
I see the Space Cowboys, and I can’t help but think of the Steve Miller Band. Does the team have a player they call Maurice? Maybe I’m being a Joker.
The Richmond Flying Squirrels are one of my home teams (I’m about an hour away from both them and the Norfolk Tides), and I love their name and logo
