Kaprizov is like a lot of top players who will command big money…will I win a Stanley Cup in my career? McDavid is doing the same for now. They know the money will be there, it's maybe their legacy that they want to achieve.

A lot of fans are in dream mode right now. Truth is Kaprizov, McDavid and Crosby are going to go where they want to go, if they decide to move. What team would say no? What team wouldn't move something around? The only real positive is that Montreal is now an attractive place to play. Hughes and Gorton are steadily improving the team and players notice. St-Louis has made the rink a fun place again. With more talent, better prospects, and growing optimism, the club is on the rise. OK I admit I dream a little….

Marco is one of the best. When I think that I have a Habs situation figured out, he does this podcast and I think, "I hadn't thought that deeply about it." He knows the NHL system. Most others are just offering opinions.

Like Marco said better to have a team that's strong up and down the lineup than relying on one line. Montreal is trending in the right direction, don't rush the process.
If a player doesn’t realize that their salary would destroy the make up of their team – I don’t want them. I don’t care how good he is. That tells me that player is selfish and that ruins locker rooms and team chemistry. We have our own superstars in the making and this money should be kept in reserve for them.

The benefit of the cap going up is it will mitigate the amount of teams that will always spend to the max: Tor, Mtl, NyR..
This will also level the playing field for canadian teams.
Guys, more than wanting to get paid, this player wants out of Minnesota. The new pressure point players are using to get traded, or to become a free agent to go play where they want to play, something owners have controlled forever, is to ask for an insane amount of money. Just look at the Dobson situation. He no longer wanted to play for Patrick Roy and possibly for the Islanders, so he asked for 11$M in order to force a trade. Rare are players like Katchuk to come out at the end of their deal and say they want to be moved, fearing the fanbases’s reaction.
I’ll take Suzuki, Caufield and Evans over only Kaprizov, any day, week, month, year.
I get it, he’s an amazing player and his agent is trying to position him for teams going out of their ways to acquire McDavid and failing at that. We are not trying to do either
I’ll never get the appeal of the new shiny thing, if you don’t actually need it, it put you in debt and you can’t buy what you need to survive or thrive afterwards.
Acquiring him would basically mean, goodbye to multiple of our young stallions eventually, be it Demidov, Hutson, Fowler, Hage, Reinbacher, any guys we don’t know yet … and thats if we get him in Free Agency … a trade would be even worse.
