This is by far THE best anniversary jerseys I’ve seen in a long time. Just the detail alone in the crest is phenomenal! Add the shoulder patch and old school logo on the pants and it’s the perfect combo.
they said the name and numbers was a nod the Cougars i like that they took things from the past when making these jersey . the Logo on what they are saying the original red wings jersey is the logo on the jersey .
As a diehard Wings fan I was a tad too critical about the 'glittery' look of the chain stitching, but after some research I had learned that this was the 'look' of the 40s/50s era Winged Wheel so kudos for Detroit to resurrect that old school look…My other beefs remain – a few too many stripes, and the red laces…Less striping and white laces would've been better IMHO.
This is absolutely beautiful. I'm an Avs fan and I ordered myself one in Premium. I kind of regret not getting an Authentic Pro, but I got Lidstrom on it and am super excited for it to come in!
I would not be upset if this kit and an away version became the new home and away (obviously they'd have to change the gloves and captian/alternate patch to bring it to the current color pattern). If they dont, then I hope this becomes the permanent alternate.
The reebok era was defined by piping, the adidas era was defined by dimples and squared shoulder yokes, and thus far the fanatics era is defined by a lot of small stripes crammed together on the sleeve….
Honestly love this jersey! although I still think the add patches should go on the bottom of the jersey! Just my opinion but that’ll never happen cause it’s not to visible
I ordered one today! I got #6 Larry Aurie on it. The first number to be retired by the Wings. Great pre-war player and for some reason Mike Ilitch unretired it when he bought the team. Only stain on his legacy, in my opinion. To this day, players still aren't allowed to wear his #6.

the Redwings used the striping from the Blackhawks 1926-1934 sweaters and the Hawks 2019 Winter Classic jersey to make this centennial jersey

Why do they keep putting the captain patch on the right side? Every other team or it on the left🤷🏼♂️
