   For McTavish Verbeek is just allergic to signing any player long term for some reason which is weird cause that's how you create surplus cap especially with how quick it's rising and expected to. I swear Verbeek just hates all of Anaheim's young core

   I think Luke, Jack, and Fitz are mainly trying to coordinate Luke's contract around Quinn hitting free agency in two years. It's going to be difficult fitting Jack, Luke, and Quinn into our cap without sacrificing our depth to sign both Luke and Quinn, so they're planning in advance.

   The Ducks do have a lot of VERY good young talent that will need contracts next year so I can see him pinching some pennies but there are only so many of those you can pinch before you start to ruin a positive atmosphere around the club, especially with the young and up in coming players . Verbeek overpays for old players and wants to underpay young players that will be their core for a decade to come. That doesn't seem to working very well so far. Fair compromises need to be made and I hope Verbeek is realistic about that.

   Verbeek is playing hardball with McTavish because his deal sets the scale for the team. Carlsson and Gauthier are both in the last year of their ELCs and need will need deals this coming summer. But playing hardball with McTavish risks alienating all of them.

    Ducks Diehard here. The GM job is clearly to big for little man syndrome Verbeek. Finally a great coaching staff, the owners came out last season and said open the purse, Beek took a swing drafting Mason several spots earlier at #3 then he was projected which has turned out to be a great call, and somehow he's playing hardball again??!!….w all the cap space in the world….w the cap about to go up again….Jobs to big for Beek clearly

    Wrong. You put Kovacevic on LTIR and you get 3.8m in cap space. 6.13+3.8=9.92m in available cap space. I can see 9.25 or 9.5. 10+ would be a terrible decision.

    Kovacevic will be on LTIR until December/January. There is more than enough Capspace for a longterm Contract.

    Verbeek is stingy and Mctavish is greedy. Plain and simple. Berbeek is probably gonna shop him just like zegras if he ever gets signed just because the talks are lasting this long. Mctavish is not worth what he thinks he’s worth. Consistant 50 point scorer with no growth offensively and a liability on defense should not be fighting for this much money.

    As long as you dish it with a grain of salt, I like the 'mean guy' , or at least 'Sarcastic dude', and I think it could help you stand out from all of the boring hockey guys out there.

    There's this guy I watch from Eastern Canada, NOT a Funny Bone in his body. He looks like he's on Ambien and mumbles into his foam mic, making it look like he's slobbering over an ice-cream cone 😉

    At this point I mostly watch ironically like MST3K would watch a bad movie.

    Anieway, I just unsubbed from him and I'm looking for some lively content with a little 'Razor's Edge' I'm also thinking about the patreon level.

    We'll see but so far I like your moxey!

    I just don't understand why someone doesn't take a shot at Mctavish.

    You just said. They are not close on term or amount. Offer him both, see if he wants to come to your team and naturally
    Call the Ducks G.M. first.
    Tell him what you are going to do and see if you can work out a trade instead.

    Don't be like Bergevin or Carolina was with KK. Have a dialogue with the team and give them 2 chances to match & mix.

    Otherwise you have a hockey player not playing hockey and a G.M. who is looking worse every day that the player misses more training camp.

    Just my (numerous) thoughts 😉

    More RFA should sign in Europe, to help to grow the leagues in Europe.
