First wow. 42 secs!
Tbh as an Avs fan I'm not excited about this season. The team just doesn't feel like a true contender at this point and macfarland is so wildly incompetent he makes them worse every single year. This team just feels like they'll be stuck in the wild-card, first round exit zone for years to come until they rebuild. Really sucks. But that's what happens when you put an incompetent GM as the head of a potential dynasty. Just ruins it.
After one of the worst postseason losses in franchise history, I was just like Nathan Mackinnon. I thought that roster they built last year was the roster to at least make it to the finals. This year? Alot of pre season questions that this team and us fans have had going into the year suddenly are no longer there. These were the questions:
Ok when is Landeskog coming back? Thats done he's full go from day one
Ok who's number 2 center? Thats been answered. Brock Nelson he answers that easily
Ok goaltending looks spotty? Not anymore its a very solid tandem
Yes there are still questions about necas and val but when you had to deal with the start they had and everything that happened last year with injuries bad goaltending mikko trade revolving door of players, it put alot on the team. Now you go into a season going we know this is the strongest team at the beginning of the season sense the cup. You got alot of big questions answered. Now the team can go out and play. For me I'm going you guys have a chance to pull a 1990 Edmonton Oilers where you get knocked out by a former teammate tinkered with the roster and go win the year after you traded the player, go out and prove it. I've got them 1st in the division. I think they are motivated and hungry based on what they got returning from last year and added this offseason.
Yeah, they are fighting for 1st and I think they get to the Conference finals this year.
Avs will get into playoffs. Hoping for conference final. Want them to win it all but going on vibes
690 win percentage amounts to 115 points. So yeah, they are going right there fighting for 1st in the west.
Av's aren't doing anything this year sadly. Sakic is wasting one of the best players in the world.
Devils fan here. Those goalies are good….until they're very much not. 😂
I don't think Winnipeg is ripping off 10 in a row to start the year again (or however many it was). If avs get league average goaltending then they easily keep pace in division imo
I think this new Avs roster is going to be better than last year because they are going to build chemistry with each other as the season goes on
No respect for Brock Nelson, he's a big add over last year to giving more offensive depth and punch as the 2c
Barring substantial injuries, which seems to be in the Av’s DNA unfortunately, this is quietly going to be a very good team. I’m really excited for the new PP coach. No reason they shouldn’t be in the top 3 on special teams for the season. I think we didn’t see what Brock Nelson is capable of last year given the mid season trade and move to Colorado. I think signing Brent Burns was one of the best offseason moves they’ve done in a long time. I’m still gutted from the way they lost last season and was finding it hard to get past it for this year, but I’m starting to feel the good vibes. I’m predicting a hot start that is going to leave the rest of the central chasing.
Girrard and Blackwood are injured right now 😛
Olympic players from AVS is like 4-6 players, Panthers have like 2-3 players that are not going🤣 imagine their exhaustion.
A massive difference in the starting lineup from this years team to last. This team is a lot deeper. The goalies are completely revamped and the new guys will have a full season to gel with the rest of the team. Also a full year of Landeskog is a total game changer. Yes they lost Mikko, but I expect a very successful season from the Avs
One of the best top 6’s in the league
Avalanche should be in the 1/2 conversation, the fact that Jesse put them third when Winnipeg has regressed, the Wild are the same essentially, and some teams got worse is crazy
SDPN before the last trade deadline wouldn't stop talking about Nelson and how he was amazing and the Leafs needed him. Now it's well Nelson is old and isn't that good?!
Under, 2nd in the division.
Besides the year they won the cup, the Avs haven't made it out of a 2nd round since MacKinnon got there. They're lucky they got that cup and taking nothing away from them, they deserved it. BUT, without it, they'd be considered the biggest chokers in the league.
I believe my Avs are going to tear it up this season. However I think they’re going to need to heavily rely on the call ups to plug some holes on the starting lines.
I’m going on the under and they’ll finish second in the division and will sweep their way into the Cup final and beat the dreaded Panthers to block the three-peat.
Ranking them 3rd in Central is crazy. They went half the year last year with an empty net and still almost won the division . They're way better and deeper now from the start. The Jets are running on Helle fumes and aren't strong enough to compete with Dallas or CO, maybe even the Wild or Blues.
Am I the only one hearing a periodic beeping noise in the season previews?
For the record, on multiple occasions Necas has denied the reports that he was unhappy in Colorado. Doesn't necessarily mean he's there to stay but those rumors were made up
just noticed the avs dont have a 1st 2nd or 3rd this year and season hasnt even started. they better hope they dont need any trades
"Winnipeg had all goaltending the whole time"… until the playoffs.
Mr Jesse Blake i would like to remind you of atleast one team that will have more top end players going to olympics…Dallas 🙂 All Finns plus Harley will be there. And those are not small names. Hintz, Rantanen, Lindell and Heiskanen. Also Lehkonen will be in team finland from avs. And ofc Florida will have Barkov, Luostarinen, Lundell and Mikkola for team Finland alone.
