    I acknowledge DeAngelo went in there but he got DOMINATED. That isn't a deterrent to any other team. NHL teams know they can't intentionally injure Isles and continue to run goalies. Its been a problem for years now. Darche MUST add serious deterrent before regular season, especially with Schafer.

    Managing expectations…that's the mantra for this team this season. Liked Schaefer…he has things to work on..but he looked like he belonged out there. The power play is still horrendous, they don't move the puck well and everything happens in slow motion. The Islanders will, once again, hover at the bottom of the league in scoring, and it is simply a skill issue. What I would like to see from this team in the upcoming season….1. Development from Schaefer, Shabanov, Tsyplakov, and Holmstrom. 2. Fewer starts from Sorokin, his head coach is one of the greatest goalies to ever lace them up….Roy should be perfectly aware that there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for Sorokin to make no more than 50 to 54 starts this season…and his team has a schedule where they have the highest number of back to back games in the league(yet again). 3. Darche needs to be active in repairing this roster…he is off to a good start but the work continues. With zero expectations of competing for a playoff appearance the focus is on the future.😊

    rip bernie parent. flyer cup days ended when bernie's injuries hit. second h o f goalie to pass in last month and like with habs their days of winning cups ended when dryden retired.
    not gonna get too excited over a pre-season game in which isles bottom 2 lines featured ahl'ers one ohl'er and only two regular d men played plus a goalie i never heard of. three players headed back to ohl plus the same for half flyer line-up.
    i'd be more concerned about 0 pts. from 29, 49, 27. isles big offensive acquisitions need to produce playing on top 2 lines. and pp looked like shit no hope once again without the skill unless 49 transforms pp.
    isles still sink or swim with 30 in regular season.

    Gil – I appreciate your episodes and thank you for your effort. I want to mention what was clearly a bad decision by the Islanders at the end of last season by not re-signing Chris King due to no linger providing radio coverage to Islander fans. Chris King has been an anchor and a position should be found for him. I understand that Brendan Burke has the on-air play by play role covered, but the lack of radio coverage and the loss of Chris King is a travesty. Thoughts?
