Ever since the ownership went "WOKE" in the month of June in NY the Mets have been sinking and losing. That's a fact jack! Leave your social and political beliefs out of baseball next year stupid 😮
Mets took 2 from the Pads and won game 1 of this series. There was hope again. But….losing 2 and now facing a competitive Cubs followed by the hottest team in baseball (swept Mets last time) looks impossible. Suddenly 5 teams are after the Mets. 3 teams either tied or half game back or 1. Entirely embarrassing.
Alonso's strikeout rate and poor defense far exceed his home run/hit production. When he does make a good play, it is often due to a lot of luck. Same was true with Don Baylor, that's why they made him a DH. Also, the team as a whole does not know how to improvise when at the plate. The 69, 86, and 2015 Mets knew how to bunt for a hit or sacrifice when in a close game. That's what got them to the World Series. Every hitter on this current Mets team thinks only one thing when at the plate…hit a home run.
