Laffy had a disastrously bad last season, and that – 13 illustrates how many opponent goals came from him not checking/back checking. I posted any number of comments on that.
But that was last season – this preseason just started. I say give EVERY player a chance.
Don't forget Schneider played the season with an injury that required surgery in April.
Igor/Quick last season were constantly hurt by terrible play in front of them…new D now.
If Shesty was on any other team last year with even half decent defense he would've had a vezina year lmao the reason his season last year wasn't great was because he had an abysmal defense in front of him.
Laf is going to play both wings in camp. Sullivan said that he likes a winger to play the off side meaning he'd like Laf better on the right side. However, he noted the player will get input too. I too like wingers on their off side, but I'd prefer Laf on the Left. Remember that spectacular goal against Florida. He was skating down the left side. I cut Schneider some slack because he was playing two years with a torn labrum. We saw what that did to Volpe. You can play but it's limiting. For this year I'd keep him on the third pair because having Morrow over there would put a lot of pressure on the kid because he's going to play with whom? I'm just fine with Vaak & Borgen together like they were in the first preseason game. Let's see what Robertson can do & maybe he can slot in there.
