  1. As a long time Maple Leaf fan I had the most respect for Eddie Giacomin. Always enjoyed watching him play. Legend.

  3. Love those sweet memories of the early 70s and the goalies that I idolized, Eddie being one of them with that cool mask, skating out clearing the puck with incredible agility and acrobatics. RIP Eddie,
Along with the others of that era like Ken Dryden, Tony Esposito , Wayne Thomas,,…..

  4. Rest in peace Eddie giacomin one of the greatest NHL goalies of all time and really great person to match. My uncle was one of the original mask makers for goalies in hockey 🏑🏒 and Eddie was one of his customers and he was just a wonderful and true gentleman on and off the ice. My condolences to his family and may you play with the great players in eternity

  5. A man of class both on and off the ice, loved his intensity!! RIP honored to have grown up watching you thrill us night after night !

  6. He gave everything and the lowlife NYR franchise does not even honor him on their website. What a bunch of garbage.

  7. As rman52's statement captures the moment of learning of Eddie's passing, my childhood has finally come to rest as well. At 65 years young. There was always a part of that childhood that wanted to be Eddie Giacomin. I thank God that I had a dad who introduced me to the Ranger teams of the mid-1960s as the Rangers again surged into relevance as an NHL power among the original six. And I further thank God that my time on earth coincided with one of the greatest of Ranger legends during my formative years as a fan forever. Thank you Eddie. I am confident you are God's netminder forever, and will never be traded from his team. Thank you for gracing my childhood forever as a hero. RIP. ("Kick save and a beauty!")

  8. He was my sports idol as a young kid. Because of him I learned to roller and ice skate to become a goaltender. Got to meet him several times at the garden. He was a wonderful man, class and dignity. He epitomizes what a sports star should be and how they should conduct themselves. R.I.P. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie !!

  9. I knew someone from Sudbury who told me each summer Eddie would return to the old neighbourhood driving a new big white Cadillac. He never forgot his roots, bless him.

  10. I'll always remember Giacomin winning his first game against the Rangers after being waived and being picked up by the Red Wings. The Ranger fans chanted his name throughout that game..

  11. My favorite Ranger growing up..EDDIE-EDDIE!!🥅I know that I probably still have a poster of him somewhere in my attic fr back in his playing days…
