  1. None of those young guys should make the team. They need time to season in the minor leagues. Laba is definitely a position of need, but let's see if we have anything in parsonan first. Give them 20 games each. If Parsonan turns out he's not much of an NHL player and Laba keeps on doing really well in the AHL, you can bring him up then. There is no rush. Laba has only played a few games in the AHL. Berard is the only one who has a shot to make the team and that's only if they start him on the third line and keep Sheary as an extra man or cut him. Frankly, Sheary's looked the best out of all of them in the preseason

  2. I actually like that 3rd line of sheary, pars & raddysh. i'm ok with the young guys developing more.

  3. Having some of them be in Hartford for a bit so they can get some type of assets in return for guys who won’t clear waivers. They can let some of the kids who should be on the NHL roster, play 20 minutes a night and be on special teams until there is room on the roster—would not be the worst thing.

  4. I dont like pars or radysh they both are vanilla boring players that don't fit the other 3 lines sheary, Laba , berard/perrault . I'm ready to move othmann the guy is not impressive at all .

  5. I think we are looking at starting vet heavy and then waiving and releasing once we see what they are capable of

  6. I also wouldn't mind cutting Raddysh and letting Berard and Sheary both make the team. Raddysh is a borderline NHL player at best.

  7. "and i just have to say, if you followed the Penguins over the past 5-6 years, you'd know that isn't surprising from Sullivan" – NYR Louie. That is an absolute horrendous take from NYR Louie, obviously he knows very little about the Penguins. The fact is that the Penguins didnt have young players worth coming up and playing for the past 10 years. They traded the vast majority of their top picks for pieces to win cups. There literally was nothing worth bringing up. Penguins top picks in the last 10 to 12 years are Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust, and Oskar Sundqvist. And Oskar Sundqvist was traded in his prime for old Ryan Reaves, so laughable. They are all over 30 now. You can't play young players that don't exist. With Rangers tho, Sullivan has some young players with potential and skill again, he will play them as long as they aren't total nuggets on defense.

  8. Othmann is coming up on 24/25? That's a pretty impressive trick for a 22 year old. Othmann, Perrault, and Laba in the AHL, with the right communication, doesn't bother me. Same with Morrow. Those guys are better off right now getting top 6 time with PP/PK work in the AHL than they are getting bottom 6, regular scratches, no specials in the NHL. I don't like Sheary over Berard. Berard is built for that 3rd line spot. Brodz is the ideal 13th forward (great locker room guy, can step in on pretty much any line on a short term basis, can play C and W), so there's no real fit for Sheary.
