Chico – player/personality
Edit after watching- I would be happy with Lou. He does deserves it next.
It would be cool if they did Doc and Chico together.
Doc Emrick deserves inclusion big time. Do it now please while he is still alive.
Claude Lemieux
I agree. Lou definitely deserves to be inducted. If not him, I would induct Daneyko.
Lou Lamorello, 100% hands down now that he's not working. Doc Emrick (+/- Chico), and Robinson are also very deserving. I'm in full agreement
The next PLAYER to be inducted is where the real debate lies… I'm not sure who I would pick with so many deserving candidates. It's tough.
My R O H jacket needs a new pin. My guess is Lou.
Has to be LOU. He is our George Steinbrenner
Players: Kirk Muller, Claude Lemieux.
Coaches: Larry Robinson
Management: Lou Lamoriello
Non Team: Doc Emrick
Lou, Larry Robinson, or Claude Lemieux would be nice.
Kinda feel like it’ll be Claude Lemiux but that’s just my gut feeling
Mctavish just signed a 6×7 contract which is surprising to me I thought they were on way worse terms than the Luke extension, but what an absolute steal of a contract. Steal. I wonder if this has any implications for Luke’s contract though..
My pics would be either Lou Lamoriello, Doc, Chico, Larry Robinson or Pat Burns.
Joestalgia deserves a spot
Emrick has been a voice for other franchises and has been celebrated by those franchises and by the League already. He absolutely can wait for a couple of years more. Chico, not our clown Chico, but the right one should be ahead of Emrick on The ROH list
Arlette!
DANCING EARL
BOBBY CARPENTER
Player wise, Claude Lemieux and Bobby Holik have 2 cups with us. Elias already has jersey retired. Who else has 2 cups with us? McKay. Gomez….
I predict that the 4th person to be inducted into the Ring of Honor will be Don Lever, he was the first Devils captain AND he scored the first ever Devils goal!
Also, isn't Lou Lamarello still with the NY Islanders organization?
So many Options from players to coaches to probably GMs, it will be interesting to see who is the fourth inductee into the RoH.
Lou “the godfather” has my vote! LGD
I freakin love Larry, but there's no argument with Lou. LGD!
I'd be all in on Lou getting a banner. Above the ring of honor in my book. 3 Cups. Pioneered bringing Russians over from the USSR before it collapsed. Made the playoffs for the first time in team history in his first year heading the front office. Deserves co-design credit for the neutral zone trap system pioneered by LeMaire that revolutionized the game was played for a decade (and still has some impact today). Drafted stars in Brodeur 20th overall and Elias 51st overall. The franchise made the playoffs 22 of 26 seasons with him in the front office, we had a record of 22-16 in playoff series, and three stanley cups in five finals appearences.
He is tied for 10th all time in Cup finals appearences as a GM. Only Glen Sather has more Cup Finals appearences amongst GM's who started their career after the original 6, when it was much earier to make the finals, era ended. He is tied for 2nd all-time in number of years as a GM (behind Dave Poile, the guy who Fitz probably traded a 7th round pick to for an autograph before he retired).
When he coached the team for half a season, after surprise firing Larry Robinson, we won what was then called the Atlantic division and went to the Conference Finals with him serving as both coach and GM.
28 Seasons! Most of it with Us!
Raise a Banner to the Rafters! Islanders did it for Torrey!
