How tf they not keep othman up
He's not a complete package yet. I personally think he can't skate, and I'm not sure about his 200-ft awareness. I'm sure the coaches see other things, but I would assume that if he continues to not make the roster under consistent basis, he's going to be part of a trade package later in the season or sent away in the off-season. Also, just an FYI, I read Kiprisov, signed the biggest NHL contract ever so bye-bye to him and all the Russian connections on the team. That was such a joke of the story…

Pretty sure Brennan will want to leave now, he will develop elsewhere, look at Kaapo, wait until Perreault gets lit up

Rangers will make the playoffs but their not going deep
How about a third line of Parssinen C , Perreault LW, Laba RW. The 2 C option on the same line provides a faceoff advantage. You have some size at C, and some great playmaking ability to the line as well. Give them a 10 game "look". It could be a winner.
The top 6 forwards are set, though I think moving NDA Panarin would be wise. The potential signing of Sheary could cost one the young guys a spot. Looks like the Rangers are more concerned about a playoff spot & a first round elimination than developing for the future. In the last 2 years I was able to watch Colorado College's games which were broadcast every weekend. Noah Laba has the size & skill to be 2C or even a 1C. Reminds me of a larger, stronger Derek Stepan. Laba & Gabe Perrault seem to have excellent chemistry together. To me Parssinen & Raddysh are marginal AHL players at best. I know a lot of fans will disagree, but Brett Berard is no different. His 'chicken with its head cut off style' makes him a 4th liner, maybe. His size & skating style make him very vulnerable to injury & becoming invisible in physical games. A good fit with Laba & Perrault? Maybe Adam Edstrom? Johnny Brodzinski? Both have the skill & both are good skaters. 4th line? It'll be different game to game. Not much here unless Rempe blossoms. Now the 'D', Will Borgen? Don't get it never will. A 3rd pair D at best, the contract he got was insane! The same with Vaakanainen. Rangers need some new pro scouts. You can tell what the Rangers thought of Breaden Schneider when they gave him #4. Unfortunately, after a good start it seems he breaks at 'first touch' & that is concerning. It seems he'll never be more than a 3rd pair guy. Hopefully Adam Fox is healed. It seems that the last 2 years he played on 1 good leg. Let's hope Gavrikov plays up to the hype. Matt Robertson is not a Drury guy & has never been given a real opportunity. Scott Morrow is a wild card, but can he play at the NHL level? Carson Soucy? Oy vey! We have 2 elite goalies & a few promising youngsters. NHL hockey is a bruising sport & things can change drastically in a heartbeat. Let's hope JT Miller just stumbled on crappy ice. Let's hope the 100th season isn't like the 50th. LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!

send him down to Hartford…that is ok….the worst thing you can do is completely give up on a 22 year old with all the intangibles on paper. Give him more time, there is no harm in that if you have guys that are younger leap frogging him.
Anyone notice how the Rempe rule is in effect? Fantom penalty. Played back twice to be sure, was not a trip.
usual Rangers mistake rushing to NHL younger prospects that need a bit more seasoning in AHL while the older ones get discarded and written off without being given much of a chance.
3rd line should be berard, laba Perrault for now. Kid line would be a shot in the arm for this non playoff roster.
They have a serious problem on defense. Top loaded on O., not enough on D. To boot, what to do with Panarin. He’s looking for big payday. Get another top D for him.
I have a feeling Laba will be back relatively soon.
I have a gut feeling Drury will be looking for a trade to free up a roster spot for Laba, on this team.
Give it a few weeks, a month or two ( maybe sooner): Laba will be back…

I know the Islanders played 1st team last night, but still , they dominated the Rangers. I was impressed with Laba, and Rempe had a good game, but others were not that impressive.

The D is still suspect. Last night was rough though granted they had more of they're major leaguers in the lineup. It could be in part getting use to a new coach/system as solid D means all 5 skaters are doing their jobs but If Othman is a 5th wheel here and none of the kids can bolster the blue line they should look into moving him for a Dman unless they can make changes from within, for starters get Schneider up to the 2nd pairing, Soucy is still serviceable but I'd rather see him on 3rd pairing or as 7th Dman
Panarin JT Mika. Cuylle Trochek LAf. Perrault Laba Rempe. Edstrom Carrick Berard. I would be interesting to see Cuylle and LAf on the same line as they complement each others skill set. Rempe would help Laba and Perrault with his size and net presence and physical play.
A lot of young guys who will now go to AHL Hartford may not be there long. Whether its injury call ups or a team stumble to start the seaon, what we see on Opening Night may well not be what we see come November.
