Russ, I was very concerned about how the Flyers young players looked last night against the Capitals. Its preseason, they are young, I get that. But I have also seen many young prospects look great in pre-season games. Last night for example, we saw several Capital young prospects do just that. But the Flyers' young prospects? They were not even close! No one on the team last night jumped out at me anywhere close to the Capital's younger players. Luchanko another dud game, Bump attempts a lot of shots but rarely gets one through, Grans and Ginning looked like career AHL players . Kolosov looked awful again. Nesbit looked painfully slow. Is it time to really question Flahr and this stafff of scouts? It seems to me they all get enamored over a rising player in the draft and they are blind to the great players available to them right where they are picking. Luchanko over Buium for example.
5 players (Laughton, Frost, Farabee, Phoeling, and Fedotov) out in the last couple of years. You have to take something apart to rebuild it. This is more of a retool. Teams that burned it down will be way ahead in a couple of years while the Flyers will continue in purgatory.
When you degrade the current staff because they are actually FLYERS, I have no respect for that opinion.
It's stupid. Getting people who are committed and comfortable in their commitment can only benefit the team if they are competent.
If our GM is competent (I see no reason to think otherwise), how valid can your 'concerns' be?

Thanks Rachel and Russ. I just watched the Boston pregame show with Tocchet. I enjoy his honesty and the way he deals with the players. Such a contrast between him and Torts. I just want to put some players behind us, and look at getting a solid center, a number 1 D-man, and a goalie. Christmas is right around the corner, lol. See you Monday.
