No Barkov and no Tkachuk is going to make for an interesting season. Panthers are still deep, but wonder if it’ll be enough.
As a very cautiously optimistic Jackets fan, the one thing that may end up salvaging our goalie situation is if Jet Greaves is really "the guy." His stats in a short sample size across a few NHL seasons have been really impressive both for his age, and his relatively small size. While there were some asterisks to it, the run he had at the end of last season was quietly the one big thing that nearly took us to the playoffs. If he can start playing like that for an extended period of time, at bare minimum it would at least stabilize the current goalie situation.

How does Barkov being out affected Florida's chances at a 3peat now you think? I think it's still very much on the table, just not a psuedo-guarantee anymore.
The Panthers can truly solidify a dynasty if they 3 peat this season without having Barkov for pretty much the entire season..
And of course barkov had to get hurt before the season even started. Really killed the vibe, especially after suffering through a orioles and dolphins season

As great as JJ was at Offense, he was way worse defensively, with the addition of some good defensive guys at Forward and Defense, it should help the Goaltending position be more confident and better. Did we lose some scoring? Yes. Will it sink is in that department? No. Can those 28 goals be spread out? Yes. Adams, while you may not like who he traded, has actually made some really good hockey trades and signings. I can see them getting WC2, will they do anything once get there? Maybe win a game or two but not a series, which is fine cause at least they got there 😂 Go Sabres!

I don’t understand the fondness for NJ at all. The team had ONE good breakout season 3 years ago. They absolutely collapsed and missed the playoffs 2 years ago, and saying this last year “they were expected to be back in the playoffs and that’s exactly what they did” really underscores and glosses over how they essentially collapsed after the Christmas break and made the playoffs with 91pts in an incredibly weak division and conference before being manhandled yet again by the canes.
Saying they could have a deep run this year is just crazy to me. People have said that 3 years running now, and they’ve done absolutely nothing to show for it.
Really I don’t understand it at all. They have a good team but a good playoff team capable of a run? Yea right.
