Hes not necessarily gone, thats not gow waivers works. If he clears then he is exempt from waivers for 30 nhl roster days or 10 nhl games whatever comes first. So if he clears the Leafs can treat it as a paper transaction and he can play game one and continue until laughton comes back then be sent down without waivers

Not unexpected but strange timing for sure. I think Lorentz moves over to C for a few games with Cowan and Pezzetta or Jarnkrok. Might want Pezzetta in there for the first game against the Habs.
I think we need to look into a rebuild. This team wasted the talent they drafted with the terrible contracts. I’m telling you we should have kept Lou to negotiate the contracts for Matthews and Marner. Those NMC killed us. We could have had who for Marner last year??? We are fucked now!

It’s very simple, he will clear waivers because nobody will take that money, Laughton will be back next week, then you send Kampt to the A without needed to clear waivers because they have 30 days

Hearing #preds and RFA Luke Evangelista are closing in on a deal expected to be 2 years x $3 million.
All of the big RFAs from the offseason will now be under contract.
The obvious waiver guy. Nobody wants to pick up the extra year. They need cap room to sign Reimer. They have Domi and Dakota who can play center. Move Domi down. Bring in Jarncrok he is much better defensively. Would not mind Lorentz on top line as he has size, speed and is good defensively.
This is not shocking at all once again mismanagement if the team
