  1. It never goes well for teams that try to play Florida’s physical style against Florida. Just get embarrassed every time.

  2. The Panthers’ head coach, Paul Maurice, was the Hurricanes head coach for 13 years including 2008-2011 when Brind’Amour was captain. Rod modeled the Canes strategy on his own experience, including under Maurice’s coaching. The Hurricanes have used this system since Rod took over in 2018. When Paul Maurice became Florida’s head coach in 2022, he implemented an almost identical system to the one Carolina had been using for five years at that point.

So no, Brind’Amour hasn’t changed how the Canes play to mimic the Panthers, the Panthers changed to mimic the Canes.

Another day, another time HP misuses the “they’re the standard” quote to outright tell lies. The whole quote starts with “how would you change our play?” and he goes on to say that the Panthers and Canes play exactly the same way. That’s what he meant by “they’re the standard.” The Panthers have executed it better, and had better players, but PLEASE stop repeating this lie that the Canes are somehow changing to play like the Panthers. The opposite is true.

  3. This WILL 100% for sure win the cup again this season. Barkov being out this season allows them to sign one more big-ticket player.

  4. Thank you very much for the concise and objective analysis! I had to laugh out loud at "everbody and their mother wants to play for there" 🙃. I suspect the comments will nevertheless still be full of explanations such as "taxes", "dirty Panthers", "biased refs". Thankfully, trying to copy a system doesn't mean that you excel at playing it (as Florida does, through all four lines). Injuries are a different topic.

  5. You covered it all. Like you said it takes execution. The Panthers play is forcing the rest of the league to not only step it up but also play a thinking man’s game. It should be interesting to see if the Panthers can turn it on again in the playoffs and at the same time if the rest of the league can step it up. There’s also certain role players who bring in the whole chemistry. Something you can’t duplicate.

  6. You forgot to mention floridas strategic use of the fact theyre Bettmans favourite team to get away with constant attempts to injure, works really well for them clearly!

  7. Florida's strategy of using LTIR isn't something that is possible anymore.

  8. Panthers' gm doesn't win gm of the year cuz the voters know panthers get too much help from zebras

  9. Up for an hour and not even a billion views? Pfft channels totally fallen off after joining the Florida hype train lmaoooo

  10. I never want to hear that the formula for a game is solved.

because once something is solved, everybody does that one formula. usually leading to the game itself being predictable and boring over time.

that comes with they're being a standard lol.

  11. Leafs fans crying real hard in the comments, WAAAAAAA. I remember being a panthers fan and people constantly calling us shit and not giving two shits. Look at all you crybabies now
