What are you thoughts on the final roster?
I’d rather mittelstadt be third line center. Jeannot mittelstadt blumel. Mittelstadt should be on a line with someone with skill. But also it seems like the second line isn’t right. When I saw Colorado’s lineup I thought the same. But we’ll see. Go bruins. Minten or eysimmont with Zacha and Arvidsson.
Situations like Blumel’s is the part about Cam Neely that drives me crazy.
Well, I might be biased because I'm Czech, but I've been watching Blümel since he was about 19 or 20. He was always getting in the right areas, and while in the AHL, he gained a lot of strength. When Boston signed him, I was thrilled. I know he has the upside of a top-six forward and I thought he would finally get a chance in the NHL. Hopefully, no one claims him and he'll soon be called back up.
I’m ready for the season to start no matter who’s on the roster. I think you’re spot on with the lines and the analysis of who is in and who is out. I also wholeheartedly agree with having a goaltending duo and Swayman not acting like a fool in net. We’ll see how that ages during the season. Big Z will be a positive influence and I would hope Zadorov learns some things from him. This team can make the playoffs but only if there is cohesion in the lines and they play with discipline. The first few games will be ugly until the roster “gels” . Obviously the emphasis is on winning but they need to bank points in the early part of the season. The injuries on Florida will open the door in the division but let’s be real, Floridas second and third lines are better than a lot of other teams first lines. I can’t wait to hear that goal horn from The Garden. Lastly, those new uniforms are growing on me. 👍
Excellent breakdown. Think 99% feel the same about Blumel.
lmao at this pie in the sky thought, imagine Minten becomes a fixture on the team and somehow corrupts Bedard into coming over. Bruins will maintain their NHL villain status with the Hagens, Bedard, Minton, Lindholm center depth.
Typical Neely/Sweeney tactics. They'd rather trot out an entire roster of over-the-hill, career bottom-6 forwards than to ever give the kids an actual chance to succeed.
Worst organization for forward development in the league, you can't change my mind on this.
Sorry… I have a lot to say, but we are all here to talk about the Bruins. I've watched almost every Bruins game since 1993, and I think I've earned my right to speak on this team as well, so here's my two cents… (I know this is a long comment, so I don't need comments about how long this comment is. Please go easy on me guys. We're all on the same team here!)
I've seen enough of Poitras and it hurts that he is still getting sent down to Providence, but like you said, he will be the first in line for the call-up. He's a really smart player. He's a playmaker. He's a high effort player. I so badly want him to be a full time Bruin. but…. the problem with Poitras is that he STILL skates with his head down, and he STILL can't protect himself. Any real Bruins fan that has been watching this team for years, feels the same way about Poitras. Every game he plays, he gets hit and we all hold our breath and sit there like ''😨oh fuck…. is he alive? He's alive… 😯Can he get back on his skates? He's back on his skates… 😌Can he get back to the bench on his own power? He made it to the bench…. 😕Oh there's the trainer talking with him… he looks hurt… hopefully he will stay in the game….''' How many players have you seen like this? Brad Marchand is a smaller guy, but he protects himself. Samsonov was 3 inches shorter than Poitras but Samsonov held his own.
I've been defending Korpisalo on here for years, and I will continue. As we saw in his last game, he was really awesome. Obviously he has some bad games, but when he is on his game, playing to his potential, we have a backup goalie that we can win a Stanley Cup with. His movement from post to post is stunningly fast and tight. He makes unreal saves. There's a 50-50 chance that Korpisalo will be on his game at any given time. I think that when he is comfortable and able to focus on the game without drama going on, he is one of the best goalies in the NHL.
My hope is that Swayman is back on his game, which he was during the last preseason game against the Ranger's full lineup (minus Miller, etc), and I hope that he and Korpisalo form a goalie pair like Ullmark and Swayman were. Ullmark and Swayman made a legendary tandem because they supported each other. When one struggled, the other held the torch.
I am confident with Lohrei going forward.
I am happier and happier with Zadorov every day and he's one of the best in the league. He scored 3 goals in 4 games (I think)… watch how he carries the puck and protects the puck as he skates with speed into the opponent's zone, making it all the way behind the opponent's goalie, giving time for the forwards to get in position, and he can create extremely high danger chances – especially in the power play.
Beecher…. there's a reason you will never see a fan wearing a Beecher jersey at the garden. He's already reached his ceiling.
Lindholm / Pasta / Geekie is the first time we've had a top line trio since Bergeron. I think they are going to kick some absolute ass this year.
All 3 of our defensive pairings are awesome. We probably have the best defensive core in the league.
All of these younger players coming to the team have a ton of potential. They are all good skaters.
I haven't felt this excited about a tam for as long as I remember.
I thought Blumel was great.
Pretty much agree also with dipietro average back up no hate .except I hate you don Sweeney. Com an cam my former favorite Bruin u suck also .so excited for 26 draft wooohaa not greedy but that goal from McKenna was insane .also apologize the kid from silvertips playing d is sick dont let me down Sweeney I want top 3 pick up suck Sweeney
Blumel should have been there
The next two cuts the Bruins should make are Neeley and Sweeney!
Two hours later, Carolina claimed DiPietro, oh well no biggie! The rest went unclaimed! Go Bruins Go!!! I'm Feeling good about Coach Sturm and the Bruins, much better than before.
the team is good enough to get a middle draft pick and see playoffs in the distance I think.. will depend a LOT on goaltending – if goaltending is above .900 they might see 80-90 points.
I think Blümel and steeves might have got sent down to get more playing time.. think that would be better than them just watching from the press box?
they clear waivers, then they can be called up as needed.
The veil thing makes no sense at all!!
I get sending Poitras down since he was on the bubble, didn’t exactly dazzle in preseason and is waivers exempt. I don’t necessarily agree with their decision making at all but I at least understand it. Blumel though, again not the second coming of Crosby but that seems pretty insane since there’s a reasonable chance we lose him to waivers. The forward core is so thin on paper. It’s made up of third and fourth liners. Why wouldn’t the Bruins prioritize offensive upside and player development in a year where they realistically are nowhere close to competing for a championship? And to potentially lose him and Steeves, the leading scorers in the AHL to waivers in order to keep Beecher and Viel on the roster? To me that’s just straight up misguided at best, delusional and incompetent at worst. Extremely frustrating pattern. Even if these prospects aren’t world beaters, they have to feel pretty bad about the way this team develops forwards. I think we need a change in the front office. And if the team finishes near the bottom of the standings again, we might get it.
minten was sent down to providence too???the bruins aren't going to the playoffs and they'll be in the draft lottery.get the worst record would be a postive for this going nowhere team of dumb scouts and management!fire them all!!!
I think you are right on…100% everything you said. I've had it with Neely.
The way I see it is that nobody makes the playoffs regardless of roster because at the end of the day you can have a team with the best players but if injuries occur or they don’t play to their strengths they’ll just not be good compared to teams that have low expectations from fans who want to surprise people
Viel and Beecher and khusnadinov over Blumel and Poitras? Why are we fooling around, signing guys like kuraly and jeannot for multi year deals, getting ardvidsson and seemingly aiming for 18th overall. Should have built up the youth, why make a team out of 2 to 15 goal a season players…..
I may be a little too confident, but i think the B's will make the playoffs. I think they'll be in 4th in their division above Ottawa and Montreal. Of course we all know that Swayman needs to bounce back big. If that doesn't happen then they won't make the playoffs. Best Of luck B's fans. I love your coverage Bruins Diehards. You're extremely knowledgeable. Let's get em Wednesday.
Blumel did enough to at least make the team!
Viel over Blumel is disgusting for a team needing goal scoring
Do the few advantages that Zadorov’s brings outweigh the MASSIVE deficiencies? I think he is hugely overpaid and a complete thug. And leadership? He left the ice after scoring the overtime winner leaving his teammates to celebrate. What a douche
let lysell move on man. hes had multiple opportunities and its clearly not happening. see if u can get something for him. also court you should apply for gm when sweeney is finally let go
I worry the Bruins are a best-case team. Everything will have to go well, good Swayman, no key injuries, fringe players and retreads playing better than they have recently and most of all, no late season fade. I think that it is just too much to reasonably hope for. I hope I am wrong, and I look forward to seeing how it goes.
Great video-
The team we see in March isn't going to look like this.
Wondering about the logistics and contracts around some of these moves.
Protecting stats because they know they're going to struggle.
Seems they're building the team from the defense out.
Also makes me wonder who they're preparing for the trade block?
They've got their eye on somebody they want this trade deadline?
We've got to see what they are looking at in the committee room – a big whiteboard of contracts,
who could've gone on waivers,
who's a two-way contract…
Who is coming up the pipeline.
Who's a good player to develop as a trade asset
Perhaps they already calculated that Blumel wouldn't get picked up?
Seems like this is asset management more than building a winning team, until further notice.
Hoping Jeremy and Joonas rotate their hot streaks⚡
This team needs to get back to having fun. Last year was not disciplined nor fun
Perhaps that has something to do with the decisions.
They're leaning on chemistry out of the gate
One advantage Bruins have at the beginning of the season, is they're no longer predictable. opponents don't know how to coach against them yet..
This will be the ugly part of the re-tool and the beginning of the season is not going to make Bruins fans happy.
❓According to Marco sturm's words in his press conferences,
"No, yeah…"
😏
he's the one that has final say as to who makes his roster.
Need to build a culture first. The rest will follow. Be patient.
Bang on. Again. I thought we were on a quest to find somebody who could score a couple goals??. Veil, Beecher and Kuraly are all head scratchers for me.
Hampus on for 24 minutes a night is too much. 2nd pair makes sense. Let Lohrei grow into the position. It's gonna take another season. Goalie comments are bang on. Korp is going nowhere, figure out a balance that works. Sway can't play 65 games. Period.
Let's hope Blumel clears. I was really hoping to see if the kids could get a good 30 game shot to see if they could do it. Maybe that was unrealistic.
If we wanna play last weeks Florida type hockey maybe we should round up Ryan Reeves, and bring Pat maroon out of retirement. Gary Veil? Seriously?
Same old shit. Upper management far more concerned about their jobs than the product. An issue rampant in seemingly every field of work these days. FIRE SEA BASS.
