  1. Thats WAY too much to pay with no salary coming off the books! Hamilton and Palat and a prospect! The Devils are in the driver's seat not the Canucks

  2. I think that mock is decent, but I think Hamilton would have to be in there. Yes, he's older, but he is still great, I think he's still worth the money given the market, and Vancouver would need a Hughes replacement. Plus, the Devils would need to balance their own books to fit Quinn into the lineup. So my guess is one of the forwards in your mock trade swap out for Hamilton; beyond that, seems reasonable.

  3. First round picks in the NHL are usually spent on known commodities and the player coming usually get a long term contract quickly. Quinn is a new jersey Devil, the question has always been WHEN, not IF.

  4. So, if you were any one of the 30 other GM's in the NHL, do you think they would not almost ALL pay more than this mock trade "it will get it done" offer for 2 years of Quinn Hughes. The answer is Yes, almost every single one of them would beat that value. Think it through. How much less than this do you think he would fetch at the deadline in 2027 than this? Even if it was true that he would choose to leave in 2027 (not determined yet, as much as you want to say it is), this is not even close to the value he will get. "Can you get a 1st round pick in there?" hahaha Come on. You answered it- every single year average players get more than just a 1st. Quinn Hughes? "I think he does it? Come on dude….
