I’ve been excited for this season for a while. It’s finally here! Stoked to see how the kiddos do. How they all do.
I fear this team is going to be at best mediocre and that will screw up our draft positioning. We need a top 3 pick.
Excited to see how Kindel and Brunicke look, but I hope we're bad enough to secure a top 5 pick. The top 5 all have franchise player-level potential which is exactly what we're missing from the prospect pool.
Still to many old guys that we don't need bring the kids back..

J1Q: Hey DK, love the shows and excited for the season to get going! Is there a point where the penguins internally could feel like they are dressing too many rookies? When healthy the penguins will have McGroarty, Koivunen, Silovs, Kindel, and Brunicke. For the sake of this let's say Kindel and Brunicke stay past 9 games. Broz and Pickering are expected to get called up at some point. Theres still Avery Hayes and Murashov too, all of a sudden there could be 9 rookies on a gameday roster if the cards fall right. Curious what your thoughts on this are.

This is the first time ive been excited for Penguins season in a long time. I have a theory about myself that I only have a pie of fandom to hand out, and a reduction in my pirates slice has increased what is available for my penguins slice.
DK – How much slack do you think the young players will have? My recollection is if a young player played well, but made one bad mistake, Sullivan would banish them to the 4th line and/or cut their minutes. My hope is the young players can have bad shifts or games without being punished so they can actually grow from bad games.
Last pre season game half way through, when jarry got replaced the boys played better, so I think the trust in jarry is gone.
Two years ago after karlsson came to town I predicted missing the playoffs. Last year I predicted a bottom 10 finish. This year I predict another bottom 10 season. I think this year the team may actually look worse than last year but given the expectation that the team ‘should let younger guys play’ for future we may champion it as a better year.
The team although losing still had a winning fire within them. I think this year that changes. Especially as some of the key guys get traded as the year goes on. A winning culture is hard to build. Even harder to maintain. When you lose it. Doesn’t matter the talent you bring in. Enough examples of that. I think that will eat at Sid as he retires a pen and drifts away as a non factor in this league as the years go.
Tonight. Until Jarry leaks in a real bad one about 3 minutes into the game. ☹

All this Names . Crosby – malkin , youngsters . So exited – until Jarry will start the season 😀 team cant win when there is no good goaltending . I hope newcomers from goaltenders will shine , and show that this pitt team can be good. i will root for Shilovs as always , hopefully he is ready ,not like last year in canucks
I'm very disappointed that Pickering didn't make the team, but Ryan Shea did. Shea is serviceable at times, but offers little to nothing in terms of offensive ability, or physical play. He doesn't check well, or fight, and his numbers reflect that despite having a big body. I also felt that Avery Hayes earned a spot over Noel Acciari.
Why did we even sign Brazeau? Enough of these nothing players ur hoping to trade for picks!!! Ur also stunting the growth of people like Broz or Hayes that should have that spot. Same for Jones n Pickering!!!! 🤔🤬
