THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!….. said every leaf fan ever for the past 58 years and really really REALLY thought it was true lol. I was living in Toronto in the mid 90s and OMG, the leafs got Tucker – they're gonna win the cup!!!…. but guys, what about the Red Wings, or Colorado or NJ??? I'll bet you 20 bucks the leaf's win the cup …. ok, sounds good budy……that was my life for the 15 years I spent in Toronto. It was like a zombie twilight zone… I do hope they win, I really do, just because enough is enough! The problem is the fans WILL be unbearable sigh….. there is no hate or tone in this message ( see how I have to be so gentle to the leaf fan here because of the shattered sense of reality?). I think the biggest tragedy isn't that the leafs haven't won all these years – it's that 99% of the Leaf fans STOP WATCHING HOCKEY when the leaf season ends so theses "hockey fans" have missed the most incredible hockey there is…… but they'll never see it…. ok, back to sleep! Go Leafs GO and this is the year!!

Leafs were more opportunist last night ! Montréal fight well but bad luck waste their best effort. (two broken sticks) on Toronto third goal. Toronto play a good defensive game the last two goals in the empty net change the perception is a 3-2 games without the last 2 empty goals. Good games to both team congrats to Toronto Maple Leafs and The Toronto Blue Jays for avancing the American League finals.
Please please PLEASE stop putting the score in the video title. For those of us across the pond it’s soooo hard to avoid the score before watching the game – don’t make it harder!

Hello – American here, who married a Canadian from Toronto & a die-hard Leafs fan, so idk much but I yell at the TV & chew off one-or-two fingernails per game, just the same. Also, I’m a mom of 6-boys; therefore, watched ALOT of sports & frankly I’ll say out loud what we’re all thinking. IMHO, Matthews didn’t have anyone feeding him the puck last night, like say, Marner? Reilly did great bc he’s not princess. Matthews was/is just not that impressive & maybe only averaged (8) shots on goal in previous season openers, bc Marner was there to feed him the puck, kill penalties for him, & probably cut up the meat on his dinner plate before/after the game. (Sorry, I actually cleaned up this msg a lot – I should mention I’m an American from New Jersey so please don’t hate me, the Leafs need something & I’m not sure it’s Matthews anymore.)

It’s so awesome to have our Leafs back on the ice ready to tackle a new season which also means we get our LFR back too. Steve, your one and only Iggy became all of our Victory Puppy and my heart is with you and your family because losing your dear fur kid is a heavy loss. We just lost our sweet fur kid a few weeks ago now and the pain and emptiness is still far too fresh but what she brought into our lives, like Iggy did for you, is pure unadulterated Love, friendship and a bond that stays with you forever. When I see you, I still see Iggy (not that you look alike 😁.
