Like how many chances are we going to give this guy!!!?? He’s a super nice guy like Campbell but he is NOT a starter!!! We went through this with woodcroft coaching !!! Just look at the Stanley cup finals back to back years!! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result!! Watch the replay on the 3rd goal. Skinner placed his stick blade on the side where Bouchard couldn’t take the puck. Skinner should have caught it instead of bobbling the puck. And of course, don’t stand there doing nothing with the puck. Put it on the corner or cover it. Just low hockey IQ and processing speed.
If they trade him, he will blossom and youll regret it.
My friend has played at an elite level as a goalie. He says Skinner doesn't move well laterally or at all. I would agree. Wolfe was much more athletic. Unfortunately Skinner seems to play worse under pressure which can't win you a cup.
Yes, Skinner is not a starter. We have two backup goalies.
Skinner is not an NHL caliber starter. I bet he'd be a solid backup, but he's not a guy that we can run with as a starter.
As much as I think Skinner can be a decent goalie, but the outside pressure, the fan hatred and his own pressure I think has got to the point where the only fix is to trade him. Like he made great saves when it was 3-3 and the flames had a PP. I thought he did pretty well in the shoot out. But I think any mistake, any funky goal just rattles his confidence and he just can’t recover.

Skindaddy just needs someone who can share his burden. He’s not as bad as his detractors make him out to be (better than John Gibson) and he’s not as good as the folks who say he can take us back to the finals think he is.
Ingram will get a shot soon. Next year we’ll make a big play for a big name for big money and it will either be a smashing success or a crashing failure.

Skinner just dug the hole he's in a bit deeper. He has until Christmas to prove to everyone he has thrown the shovel away. We can't limp into the playoff again this year. The Oilers should be dominant, even with average play from Skinner and Pickard.

a reporter dug deeper and asked Knoblauch ' wasn't Skinner's mistake at 3-3 a punch in the gut which changes the whole game', and Knoblauch more or less agreed, stating we should be able to bounce back. However, Skinner is always making big 'punch in the gut' mistakes. It doesn't matter if after a huge mistake he plays well. He CHANGES games.
Stuart Skinner has never made a money save at a critical point in the game and then shut the door. Grant Fuhr would let a few in but would make that 1 save in the game when its needed. Skinner should go join Jack Campbell because he's never gonna do it for the Oilers. The whole world knows the Oilers need a goalie and I suggest that they solve the problem. I'd hate to McDavid waste 12 years as an Oiler and come up empty. They dont do something and in 2 years he will be a history lesson and the Oilers will become the Maple Leafs of the west
