Dadonov gets hurt, and all the depth Keefe has at his disposal, he goes back to Palat with Hughee and Bratt. The 1 player who literally brings down the play of whoever is on his line. You have Cotter who looked good tonight, grits, brown, Mercer, etc. But no…. he goes with Palat. Might be a hot take, but im not impressed with Keefe at all.
This Canes team watched Svechnikov gets trucked the other day in pre season and did nothing. They are there to be got at and you’re not getting push back I don’t know why we can’t get that and go in a brutalise them

I know it’s game one of 82…but we just don’t play with controlled energy we just don’t. We always look like it’s a scrimmage against whoever. Really hope it changes.
"they want it more" that quote right there. Is the reason people have the right to be pissed. This team has been owning you for years now. And this is how you come out to play them? The devils should "want it more". That's my opinion. Where is the sense of pride? I also don't think the "it's only game 1" narrative makes sense. They are still making the same mistakes they have been making for over 2 seasons now so I don't believe in game 1 nonsense.
Palat on this team is just pathetic. Mercer is absolutely useless. Keefe is legit a bad coach. Blind passes, dump n chase, soft on puck, reaching with sticks, bad penalties…he just doesn't have the team ready or prepared. It's exactly a pickup from the end of last season. The players aren't buying what he's selling.

They own us so hard. It could have been 3 to 10. We are not even close beating them without luck. I hate them so much. Every game we play against them looks exactly the same and we don't have a plan against it. Alot of guys looked very bad and exposed. U said the game was close but in fact they outplayed us through the whole game. Hit 5 posts and missed several highdanger chances
Doesn’t matter the team we’re playing, we always look like we’re chasing pucks. Other teams looks so much more structured. Very frustrating.
I’m not trying to give excuses for doomers however, there is a REAL deficiency in the way this team plays. Always chasing and over time it seems like nothing changes.

Ace whats up diehards are back for the regular season. Brutal way to start guys battled I thought. But way too much open ice for canes in reality they could have 10 goals with all those posts. We are truly cursed i feel in that building. I cannot stand that canes team but wanted to get revenge on these guys just not too be. 3rd was horrendous I felt . Have to put it behind fast. An angry Tampa team after losing to Ottawa won't feel sorry for us in our next game. Win or lose baby we booze
I thing that I cannot stand is late in 3rd periods team gets very tight with puck in pressure situations. They need to change that mentality and believe they are enough to get the job done. Tough one. Hate this loss. But we need to get focused and go to tampa and get a win. We did not play well vs them either last season . They are angry after home opening loss. If we can go to Tampa and win it gets this taste out of our system. The canes just always kill us I annot stand it
I felt throughout game despite responses from team it was a chasing type game throughout. Cannot give a high skill team like carolina all that ice and space.

They have this stupid tendency where they start games so flat footed, watched plays develop and back skating way too much letting easy zone entries. As soon as we started stepping up and making hits on the blue line we were able to generate more. The start of games is something this team NEEDS to get better at. Going down 1-0 almost every game is such a fucking loser way of playing im sick of it
It was great seeing jack back on the 🧊 ⛸️. Its 1st game at least its past us. Very important that we get focused and play a good team and get a showcase win down in tampa
