I met Pelle Lindbergh at the opening of the first IKEA in Pennsylvania in the 1980s. I got his autograph on a bumper sticker that ironically had the words “Don’t drink and drive “ next to his name. So sad.
I remember this vividly and there wasn't alot of information given. Just that he was drunk and speeding. I was angry at him for years. I'm 62 and never drank or did drugs. I can't wait to see this and to get the real truth. 😢😢😢❤❤🎉
Some things you remember all your life and when I turned 8 and just became a Flyers fan I recall finding out on Action News that Pelle crashed his Porsche and it was so sad for me because he was one of my favorite Flyers… Again, I felt this sadly again a few years later with the Jerome Brown tragedy :-///
It was dark weird times in Philadelphia area to be a kid. It started with the Jim O’Brien skydiving accident and Pelle, but then MOVE, the Challenger disaster and Bud Dwyer all televised live to us in the span of just about 4 years

In those days Mike Keenan was the best Head Coach in professional Sports, who with the Flyers, Blackhawks and Rangers gave plenty of days off.
The only curse the Flyers have is poor roster construction. Mark Howe was the Flyers' last great defenseman. Pronger helped the Flyers to the SCF in his only full season in Philly. Other than Timonen, who else has there been? Desjardins was garbage. They've had lots of good goalies since Lindbergh; they never pulled the trigger to acquire a star goalie like a Roy, Hasek, or Belfour. Please don't try to pass off 2025 "sensitivity" to mischaracterize who Lindbergh was — he seldom drank but made a huge error in judgement. He was not an alcoholic.
