Signing bonus is paid to you in the state you play in since it’s your primary residence, so you pay income taxes on that giant lump sum based on that location (ie ZERO in the locations that have that massive benefit). As a result, you’re only losing money to state income tax off of your game checks, which only comes out of the $1M base salary

I recorded both games and then started watching the Leafs at 1am and got lucky because they only mentioned the jays getting a few runs so I really didn't know who won and was able to enjoy it after the Leaf game without the ending of the ball game being spoiled. I had to skip the hockey game intermissions because I'm sure they probably did updates during them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. One time while watching the Leafs my Alexa somehow picked up the word "Leafs" and blurbed out the score so now I set the volume on Alexa to 0 before the game. I always record the games and watch later. There ya go my life story.
Just as a heads up fellas. Cootes didn't make this team because of the cap. He earned his way onto this team. He's been mature beyond his years. I do think he goes back down to Seattle but that may be more to do with not wanting to burn a year of his ELC more than anything.
The game looked very slow paced…having a beer playing some pond hockey. Both teams. Horrible. Matthews has zero energy to his game man. I don't see the passion with this guy. Guy used to have an elite shot…no more man. Guy probably can't play high intensity bc of his back. Has to be. How can you not get up for first game of season…no shot or scoring chance. He should be able to look like a threat on the ice no matter who he plays with.
Vancouver wiped the floor by Calcary in the first match . Demko was the Vezna level goalie from the very start.

I really like Kyper and enjoy his take on many issues, but I am seriously concerned about his well being. He is demonstrating signs of CTE and based on how he played the game, that is understandable. Bourne and Sammy and those around this show, please take care of Kyper.
