They are playing like they're only there for the paycheque…sad.
But, it's a long season. By the end of December we will know how serious the Oilers are about making another Cup run.
Happy for John Gibson though, because during the off season so many Oilers podcasters were predicting that going after Gibson would be bad because of Gibson's history of health issues.

I knew that Knoblauch was going to be trouble when he was hired and we learned he was a nepotism hire to pump air into McDavid's tires.
I hate to say this: … but writing is on wall this year… they wont make play offs.. its cycles every 3 years or so- they will MISS it – leaving only 1 year left for MCD to try winning in EDM; these younger players they recruited this summer aint going to work – its proven so far, no experience and grit – Oil are in deep trouble already; Oil lost 5 players this summer; this Frederick player is suppose to take over what Perry did – get emotional !! – provide GRIT , spark something on bench – there is no scoring help for MCDrail tanden; This Rosolic does not fit with oilers…… sad…. Bouchard – dumb player and Sloppy let so many goals in…. Nurse is as dumb as cold puck; stupid hockey IQ;…TOO many problems…. nightmare continues from June 2025 finals…
I hear you Austin. I feel like we saw this so many times last year. They’d be behind and then they’d get some goals and then they’d have some confidence and good plays again! I just hate that it takes them suffering and getting behind to get that OOMF. And lately it’s too late by the time they get the inspiration. I think you’re right in your previous video where they absolutely need to bring it back to basics. They’re trying too many fancy passes sometimes and it doesnt need to be like that… . Also, everyone just looks so unhappy! Like can they have fun? Maybe they need to remember Hockey being a fun sport.

Also, can we please point out that the Oilers have only had two months off… Detroit, New York Islanders, etc. had literally five months off because their playoff run ended early. Panthers are also having a really hard time right now. Not all hope will be lost, but I hope things change for sure. I hope they get passion back!!
You can't make so many changes over the last two years and expect the team to still be an efficient well oiled machine. I think the Golden Knights will win the division and be the team going to the Western conference final. If the Oilers can't get it together by next year Conner will be gone.

Redwings kind of swarmed them from what I saw and Finnie played an awesome game besides scoreing.
I would argue that two of the worst forwards have been 29 and 97. They’re the ones being stagnant. The “cutesy” blind drop passes end up on the opposing team’s sticks 75 % of the time. There is also something to be said about the abundance of forwards that are still here. This becomes Knoblauch’s crutch, the constant mixing of the lines. No way to create any chemistry. In the end though, it does start with 97 and 29. They HAVE to lead and not make the amount of mistakes that they make.

I'm a wings fan and came here for your take on the game and oh man… I feel your complaints about uninspired play with no creativity. This was us with Derek Lalonde as head coach. I wept frequently during those dark times. It's hard to explain to people how you can feel depressed even after a win, but that's how it was. I hope the Oilers turn it around. The league needs McDavid highlights. The league is better with a good Oilers team. I'm jealous you have Walman. I'm not sure about the spend, but he's a good guy on and off the ice. Honestly, he'd still be in Detroit in Lalonde was gone a year earlier.

I was stunned by how the game ended. You guys are competitors. Then I watched you trail by a goal the last ten minutes and only put up three shots. I kept waiting for the heavy push, and it never happened.
Plus, all of our goals came from our first line, which I expected to be shut down. If we were going to win, I was sure it would have to be by depth scoring. Not so much.
With McDavid taking the hometown discount, I expected your team to be inspired this season come out swinging. I just don't get it.

Are they too afraid to actually build decent 3rd line? So with Connor he has to have Drai or RNH on his wing – so they share 2C. Seems there is a power struggle.
