The Toronto Marshmallow puffs lose again.
Going into this season there were only 2 untouchable players for me, Knies and Stolarz. Hasn't changed.
Not to have the wild take, but i think matthews is just done with Toronto. Too much has happened.
Its almost like Matthews is missing having Marner dangle around, pull the attention to him so Matthews can coast in to a prime scoring chance right as Marner fires a perfect pass to him.
Barube has pissed me off. Laughton goes down and they change 3 lines and our top line RW moves to C? Especially after Matthews has played with same guy since Babcock was fired. It’s like he purposely tanked any chance at building chemistry then we sit back and wonder why these guys look discombobulated. This is mostly on the coach and it hurts to say it cause I’m a big Barube guy.
The challenge call was less to do with breaking any rules but to do with an effort to support Stolarz. The fear that Stolarz might had exploded that no one even coaching staff is not supporting him. Problem is hindsight because it cost them a goal.
Guys you gotta stop being so hard on Austin Matthews it's not going to help the guy play better lol I get it you're mad but no matter how bad bergeron played Boston would never be ripping into him like this. Defend your guy! He's your guy you live and die by him so tearing into him doesn't help you.

So the buds were god awful tn, that challenge was out of nowhere because there was no chance it was getting overturned and the leafs normally excel with their challenges, and (much as I LOVED what he said after last game) Stolarz really didn’t look good tonight! Pucks squeaking through him on a couple, completely lost his net and pushed the wrong way on the second one, getting beat through screens that he can clearly see over/around. He’s been wayyyy too busy in the net this season imo, just caught up to him today. He needs to calm it back down like it was last season so he isn’t opening up these big gaps and he’s just letting pucks hit him instead
