Last season, when McLelland took over and they went on that run, I was posting positively about the team on social media. I’m not doing any of that anymore. I’ll text and post once they actually make the playoffs.
I think the wings can be assessed as a competitive home team. However, on the road, I think it’s going to be a mess. Rasmussen needs to be sent down to learn how to play. A message needs to be sent. I still have faith in Bergerrs, but that is fleeting. He probably needs a change of scenery for his own development. I’d rather see Danielson, Mazur and Lombardi playing over our perennial slugs.
I believed the early excitement and hype was premature. I believe a better measure is 20 games.
They are still 5-3 .It's going to be interesting how they handle the back to back against the Blues.

Gonna have to take this in stride. We have made this a very young team very quickly. Everyone wanted the youth in… well we got them. Now we have to be patient and let things develop. And yeah Steve needs to make some decent trades and get rid of Ras for crying out loud.
Bergg & Ras directly responsible for NYI 1st 2 goals, due to horrible defense. Edvinsson was awful, ASP made horrible passes.
Danielson (when healthy) and Mazur need to replace Ras, Bergy, and/or Elmer.

I will normally sit and suffer through a Wings blow out and hope for a comeback performance… after goal 4 against I just HAD to switch to watching something happier.

The biggest difference between NY's and Detroit's giveaways was the Iles scored 2 goals on 2 of the giveaways. Doesn't matter who lost the puck, NY scored on 2 and Detroit didn't. Raymond gave the puck away on 2 bad passes, and one resulted in a goal. We're back to the dump and chase, we're back to just dumping the puck out of the defensive zone instead of skating it out. Another year, another of the same mistakes.
Marco Kasper's first career goal was pretty bad, too. It was like the team didn't even give a crap when that happened last season. My difference maker was that being the most synchronized "Everyday" you guys have ever had at the end there.
I think it was unnecessary to change the lines just because they lost one game. The new lines had zero chemistry. Raymond became invisible.

Lazy defensive playing- eye watching and expecting another teammate to cover an open guy, weak back checking. I played hockey for 15years and you covered the defense laps well Brian. I’m yelling at the tv like I was a coach because these laps were so blatant.
