   Laf should be at least a point a game guy at this point. Hughes was a point+ a game guy by his 3rd season and still producing like that.

   re lafreniere…if a prospect has questionable skating/speed he just wont be top player in todays NHL, esp out of the gate.

   There was no need to sign Laffy, Borgen, Vaak and Juuso during the season. This limited what we could have done during offseason to really change the team instead being locked into players no one was banging down the door to get.

   Alexis seems to really be lacking basic hockey sense. So they should bench him and dress anyone in his place, just to let him know that you can't just float around collecting your millions doing nothing.

    Look John, this is not an excuse but THIS also IS fact…This is what the Rangers organization is best known for; THEIR identity : the natural inability to produce/develop ANY young player or prospect, ESPECIALLY first rounders!🤬👎
    I think you’re missing a lot from the overall picture here and you need to empathize more.
    In terms of Laff personally, it’s not only the contract signing. Remember….
    Laff came in during the pandemic which hindered his junior season at a very critical time. Most probably the biggest factor was that Laff came into this league with his very first NHL coach being just as green as he was! He then had to learn and adjust to the fact he wouldn’t be playing his original position where he’d always played at up to that point.
    How would you like to be drafted as a second baseman only to find out you’re gonna be used as a shortstop?! So yes, he wasn’t placed in/given the opportunities that would develop his skills more, in addition to his confidence. Now a lot also has been his constant pairing with Panarin who has completely rubbed off on him and it shows in too many ways, none in his positives/offense, but all his negatives! Because of this he doesn’t defend, he is useless in a forecheck, let alone the back-check, he barely cuts into the middle/greasy areas and just plays Bread’s similar lazy east-west style which is more concerned with the perfect pass/play & finesse than it is with the competitive fight. I believe another big factor with Laff is that he also came up in the league with all those core guys that always whined/cried, especially last year, gave up on the coach ( AGAIN ) along w/management and mostly the fans all with a giant sense of entitlement. Thats what he’s been exposed to…for years! He saw multiple players sign contracts and then turn their game into complacent laziness, etc..
    Bottom line, this was a super green kid that cut his teeth on a core group that turned their backs on every coach since 2018, which is FOUR in approximately 7 years. Where’s the stability and consistency in confidence there?! Because that’s exactly what’s needed to develop a youngster properly!🤦‍♂️🤬
    Anyone that can’t see the impact these many things would have on a young, impressionable kid, they’re fooling themselves. These are the things he saw, these are the things he experienced, these are the things he LEARNED coming into the “Pros” all during his crucial formative years! And then you’re gonna bitch at why he is the way he is?! But you all would be able to deal with/adjust to this as a young 21 year old in the biggest market there is perfectly, right?!
    C’mon now!🤷🏽‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤨
    You may not like him or his play, I may not him or his play, but no one can say this was his doing. You mentioned Kravtsov and Anderson? That’s funny cause look into their stories and you’ll see/find very similar mishandling; including Kakko!!
    THIS is what the Rangers and their org is known for! It’s what they DO!
    Now, until one or both of Dolan & Drury ( Dumb & Dumber) are gone, or at least developmental changes made, this will continue as it has for decades.🤬👎
    Pssshh! I’m surprised Laff even lasted this long cause if you take a look at the big picture, he was doomed from the get go!😳
    Think about it this way, for years.. YEARS now we have all (from news/reporters, to social media, to the fans themselves) questioned, “What is this team’s identity?!”
    Well, if THEY don’t even know, let alone show it in any way, how is Laff expected to?! 🤷🏽‍♂️😒

    Lafreniere: trade or demote
    Panarin: Trade before you lose him to free agency, and while he still has some value
    Zibanejad: Find a way to trade him and his bad attitude
    Let the league know that Fox is also available
    The Rangers can lose just as efficiently with the kids as they can with the high dollar prima ballerinas, I mean prima donnas

    ive been a Ranger fan since 1966 its like they have started off this year how they played last year so frustrating . not much effort and confusion . Rangers when you are at even strength they have the puck in your end of the rink man on man covered no one should be standing there all alone by the net . let me explain since you dont seem to know center covers center our wingers cover the points ,their D RANGERS D all over their wingers . SEE EVERY ONE IS COVERED . ALSO Mika has looked like crap bad plays and effort .MILLER needs tpo pull his head out be a leader thats what you here for .

    The team needs a full rebuild. Time to trade established players for as many high draft picks as possible. It will hurt for a few years but it done right the Rangers will be contenders again. The alternative is a continual decline.

    The Flames are going nowhere and the Rangers need more speed in their lineup. How about getting Coleman? I was hoping the Devils would consider it too. Funny how as I was thinking about this during the week and he ended up putting two in your net. I thought that there was a pretty big longshot but a shot that you might look to get a rare early season deal done when the team was out in Calgary. I also think that the Maple Leafs might have interest in him too. He would fit what they are trying to do.

    In regards to Laffy he is a laugh. Sometimes guys are just a bust. Now maybe though he just needs a change of scenery and in my trade scenario above I could see him going in a trade to one of the teams mentioned.

    Finally people see what s been obvious for a long time. He needs this and he needs that BS. Hockey and all sports are about performance. Laffy is a stiff . He's out of position , defense nightmare and doe snot produce offensively to over come his obvious shortcomings . He is mostly invisible until he screws up on D and cost a goal. I am a life long Ranger Fan but I am also a realist. No one on this team is untradeable . NO ONE. They are just lousy.

    2 game stretch? Laffy disappeared when he got the big contract. He is an absolute bust, been saying this for years.
