@Devils du New Jersey

1. 8 game heater into 1-3 is not a good sign. Makes it seem like some of those 8 wins must have been luck. Fire Keefe and Fitzgerald.

  2. I haven't even heard anything yet, as this video was just uploaded 5 minutes ago, but I've heard enough! Remember the timeline from last year? Let me remind you: "strong" start, west coast disaster, and then the rest of the season is in shambles. Well, I guess disaster came early this year. And it's not like we had the time NOR the desire to build up a point cushion.

9-4 to start the season…you know what 4 losses gets you in May? A BOOT OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS! Wrap it all up!

  3. Doomers gonna doom.
    Its what doomers do.
After all, what do you expect from a generation of depressed wussies?
    Devils STILL a WAGON 😈

  4. Pesce the main factor why this team is struggling. Once he went out it showed on defense . Offense with line changes has seen the lack of goals. Defense needs to step up is all. Injuries are inevitable but to have the names we have on defense it’s inexcusable performances

  5. We all know the devils are good when healthy but with the charmin soft core we have it’s not gonna be easy to get to and thru playoffs healthy call me a doomer but I think it’s more so realism when our team is healthy we can hang with anyone and I will give my full praises

  6. Soft fans. Should be fun games against Habs and Penguins. They start notching up those wins and everyone will forget like the sheep they are.

  7. Luke will make his usual blunders per game but he'll be fine as he progresses as a player, as will Nemec. Give them time. Siegenthaler though is the more frustrating defenseman out of the bunch because as a veteran he tends to play out of position a lot, lose puck battles, or cough up the puck in his own zone. Without Kova, he really gets exposed badly.

As for Luke, is he playing like a $9M/yr player? Not even close and who knows if he'll ever earn that money while he's here. But it's the gamble Fitz took to keep Jack happy and hopefully get Quinn over here next year. So, Luke benefitted big-time from the situation.

  8. Still not impressed with them. Maybe im too harsh, but they dont look like a threatening team at all yet. Team desperately needs a legitimate GM who isn't afraid to go all in.

  9. I think the trainers can only be blamed to an extent. Maybe something can be changed to make the injuries less but a lot of it is on players too and unfortunately bad luck

  10. Oh, it's easy for you guys to yell at Ace in a comment over the internet. You don't think that the Devils are a contender? Go to ESPN's office and say those words to John Tortorella's face.

  11. I like Glass, but he's just that,"Glass ". He'll come back, and He'll be hurt soon after. I'd be interested in trying to get Kadri. He'd be a perfect third line center on this team.

  12. The skid stunk! But looking at the overall standings there are many teams that have lost the same amount of games. As long as they can bounce back and win more than losing everything will be fine. The Canes have played less than us and have the same amount of loses but they will def be fine also. The season will have many ups and downs. Get on the boat or get off if you can't handle the motion of the ocean. LGD!!!

  13. Great video, Ace. I agree with your take. Injuries, road trip (late games), tough schedule.

That being said I just can’t seem to relax with this team. It’s a seesaw of emotion. I just wanna trust that they are a team that can win any game. The past few years have conditioned us fans to go a little batty.

I hope they come out swinging Thursday!

  14. Whose game is better offensively, defensively, and overall: Nemec or Luke? Regardless, this team wins when the defense contributes

  15. Really can’t distinguish games as “big games” bc they lose to teams that are considered in the infancy stage to rebuild.

  16. Big picture: Mercer playing top 6 level hockey, Glass looked like a very solid 3C before injury, and Gritsyuk playing mod-6 levels as an NHL rookie means we have a very good complete forward group when healthy. These guys stepping up is as important as a 9-4 record, which. If sustained over a season, all but guarantees 1st place in the division, if not the entire NHL.

Teams special teams even more dominant than last season.

5 on 5 offense is no longer anemic like last season, actually pretty good. Love that Keefe tweaked the system and everyone is on board even if I've seen bad reads at times by our blueline with the less conservative system in mind (that can be cleaned up, guys not playing to system would be a deeper problem than over exuberance).

Yes, 5-on-5 d was only average in our win streak (by XGA/60) and was God aweful this road trip. That is where I want to see improvement as we get healthier if we want to be truly for real.

Anyone who doesn't see all the good things that have happened just wants to doom after one bad road trip where injuries hurt us.

  17. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone blaming the training staff, or the medical team for injuries. What I have heard, and what I happen to agree with, is personal responsibility in training. I’m not going to forget the “country club” comments from TF himself, and his directly blaming a lack of commitment to the gym, as a REAL issue with these guys. It wasn’t born of nothing. I was happy being wrong early in the season, but once the same ole sh*t begins creeping into the on ice play, what does anyone expect? I remain cautiously optimistic about our team, but I’m not going to lie to myself about who they are.

  18. We were out played, plain and simple out played out hustled and out goaled in all games besides the Kings game and the Avs game as both woods always had our #. but anyway its a new month and hopefully we see the same devils team that got us on that 8 game heater, and they can hopefully repeat that heater and this time take it to 10.

  19. Let’s go! We’re the DEVILS, we’ll beat anybody! Gotta support the team. I might go to @VGK 12/17. Looked @ ticket prices @ The Rock. Prices $$ look higher ($200 min basically) for the vs Rangers game. Rangers suck! Definitely looking forward to these next 2 big ECF matchups. I just saw most EC teams are .500 or better, crazy parity

  20. Marathon not a sprint 😂
    That sounds familiar
Ace, I really hope you go to Saturday’s game against the Pens. That is my son’s big day at the rock & I’m hoping that his presents inspires the team. From what I heard thru the grapevine, the RWJ video of my son was shown to Jack Hughes 1st then shown to the rest of the team.
    LGD!!!
