Matthews has surgically repaired wrists. They're not losing their first line center for 6 to 8 weeks over a temper tantrum. Terrible take.
They're a offensive team with a defensive coach.
Matthews is the only “superstar/generational player” that I have to check to see if he is in the lineup.
Stolarz haven't been awful imo.. How are you gonna be over .900 when your team is giving away clear chances all the time. It's nerve wrecking watching this team, soooo mentally fragile..
Pretty poor take imo. Saying the goalie needs to be above .900 or he doesn't get to speak up is a bit ridiculous. Stolie hasn't been as good as he can be, no arguing there. But part of the reason his % is so low is because of the things he spoke up about in the first place. The d (and some forwards) are failing him every single night. Turn overs, give aways, misreads.. it's non-stop right now. The team is not playing connected hockey, not thinking the game the same way and it shows in their play. And what's the significance of 900? Would 899 be appropriate then or still gets no voice? Even though it is indeed a results based sport, effort does matter and 41 is trying.

the forwards do not play defensive. They are so far from the d in their zone . the d gets gaved in. Whole structure is wrong. Whatever the coach and the assistants are doing isn't working.

Zack, why do you get so horned up about Leafs trading all their picks and prospects …. Leafs ARE NOT A CONTENDING TEAM and have never been in the past 20 years. I was a Leaf die-hard my entire life and finally gave up when they traded 2 prime 1st rounders for Kessel. Draft picks are the lifeblood of a successful team's ecosystem. So I will not shut the puck up …. Leafs are currently a re-building team even though it is hard for you to admit it. Or you just can't see it.
On draft picks you're starting to sound eerily like Burke … "Draft Schmaft". You are both wrong.

2 1rsts , Minton and a B level prospect should have gotten you a Top 6 forward or top pair defensemen, not Carlo and Laughton – you can like Laughton all you want but those two trades brought you back very little
