  1. I feel like a new coach, and new system can be a big breath of fresh air for the team. They need to play a completely different style of hockey, I feel like they got predictable in Sullivans last few years.

  2. THey are gonna make a splash in off season 2026 and if they get one of the top 3 picks next year, look out

  3. If Kyle ends up looking like a genius I'll eat my words, but honestly he seems lost right now. He wants to rebuild, but he's handcuffed by veterans on the team who seemingly won't let him, and he just seems stuck in the middle.

  4. Liked the video a lot for its quality, but I would argue this is all awfully overoptimistic. I hope you're right in a way, but I just don't see them doing anything consequential in the short term. Plus no team with Crosby on it can suck hard enough to get McKenna, so there's a tough choice to make either way depending on what you're betting on for the mid/long term.

  5. I believe that Sully is gone cause he didnt feel the youth was ready. I think Kyle thinks its time to push them. Ville and Rut will be on the squad come regular season start. I wish we could see Murashov in net. Joel got EXPOSED as weak high in the net. Really gonna miss Ned this year.

  6. I’m honestly impressed with what Dubas has done to send this team into a rebuild/retool. He inherited a team with no draft picks, no prospects, and a team with an average age of 30 and a handful of bad deals. He not only got rid of so many bad Hextall contracts, he also somehow stockpiled us so many draft picks in the first 3 rounds that we have the most picks in not only the league, but also in the first 3 rounds over the next 3 drafts. He got us 13 draft picks in the 2025 draft. Now while Dubas’s drafting in Toronto has been… mediocre, hopefully he’s learned and can perform some better drafting with us. I’m quite optimistic about the future.

  7. The problem with the Steelers, besides subpar coaching, has been both always staying over 0.500 and thus not giving themselves the best shot in the draft (i.e., remaining mediocre) and also making poor decisions in said draft like selecting a QB from Pitt (in the first round!). Fortunately it looks like the Pens aren't falling into the same trap.

  8. Dubas traded a first round pick for Erik Karlsson on the fundamental misunderstanding that his stats in San Jose were anything other than stat padding loser hockey. That decision is mutually exclusive from "genius."

  9. Even if they "luck" into Mckenna, I dont see how any of this really makes Dubas a genius. Too many premium assets being used to aquire small skilled forwards.

  10. Brunicke feels like a slam dunk. Kid looks so comfortable out there with the skills and smarts to make an impact.

  11. I don't blame dubas for the jarry and Graves deals. 95% of fans were in favor of the graves signing then he fell off the map. Jarry was not a great choice at the time, but the goalie market was horrible and he was the best available at a time when we were trying to win. Blame Jarry and Graves for not holding up their end on the bargain. Also, Karlsson saved them cap space and unloaded a number of problem contracts. It didn't work, but it was hardly a bad deal.

  12. Aside for the transactions he made during the first couple of months as pens GM (e.g. signing Jarry, Graves, and trading for Karlsson) Dubas had done a great job. Luck was not with the pens last draft lottery (dropping from 9th to 11th pick) hopefully pens will have more luck in this year's lottery

  13. They need to rebuild with the center thought being what do we do after crosby…gonna take some growing pain years but itl happen eventually

  14. As a lifelong Pens fan these last 4-5 seasons have been tough especially knowing this is the end of Sid's career and him playing at a high level it feels wasted. This does give some hope and i guess at this point just have to be patient and like you said enjoy watching Sid, Geno and Letang finish out in Pittsburgh.

  15. no matter how low things get this year I'm trusting Dubas. Unfortunately I don't think Pittsburgh sports fans understand patience.

  16. Eh Pens have a long road ahead of them they really should have taken the Capitals approach and sold earlier and im sorry but Ryan Leonard alone is better than majority of the Pens Prospects so no Koivunen will not be in the running for the Calder

  17. "Why Kyle D. . . " This is just a list. No particular analysis. Just a list. Nice footage, good compilation, but pretty tame.
