1. All Islanders fans should thank the parents of Matthew Schaefer because is an articulate and skillful player, who represents his team and sport very well.!

  2. simple math. when isles get .957 from 30 and .909 from 33 they have a good chance to w. if not and they have to score 4 and chase g's chances are they L. this is still and up and down team that can be good for 3-4 games and lousy the next 4-5. w over caps was helped by pk tossing in sh g. i still wonder what good the two comrades are when they aren't even playing? 7 is looking very useless and back to khl bound soon.

  3. Faceoffs are a very underrated part of the game especially during the pk and the end of the game. Arbour always had two center men on the ice in the d zone.

  4. The islanders looked really good today hopefully they can keep playing like this and keep getting good goaltending

  5. great comeback..trying not to be a homer and be fair…there is no way that goal for Columbus should not have counted!…the only way it wouldn't have counted would be if it was goalie interference and Columbus would've gotten a penalty for knocking down rittich and they didnt even call a penalty….but pulock clearly pushed him in…shouldve been a goal

  6. See what happens when you play with a bit of energy!
I dont want to sh!t on the great weekend for the Island – BUT – still need more from Lee, Barzal, they are face-less on the ice. How many pucks is Barzal going to give away, what does Lee do besides decide to play when in the opponents' zone? You have your 18 year old rookie out scoring both of ya's together! ..Imagine what the team would be if Lee and Baral lived up to their contracts and helped Bo, Schaefs, Romanov and Sorokin? Nice to see the PP units slowly coming together.

  7. Let's take a moment for a quick second – let us reflect on how TERRIFIC, how SUPER STAR ELITE, how uniquely SPECIAL is Matty-Shay? It has NEVER been done 5/5 in first 12 by a D-man! To score a goal in the NHL is difficult, especially for a D-man, and Matthew Schaefer has broke the mould into pieces so far that he is figuratively writing a new blueprint of how to not only play but dominate the position – the "Michael Jordan" of the NHL! It is not crazy to say this when evaluating his first dozen games at the grandest level. Who knows what the future holds but right now, today, you can compare MS with the elite of elite at his position, in the NHL, and who have turned the face of their sport into a new direction. Nobody has done what is doing as a defenceman in their first dozen games, let alone at 18. Now, who said they wanted Misa? lol

  8. Great Islander weekend! Way to rebound! I heard on WFAN that the win Sunday is the latest comeback win in regulation in the Islanders' franchise history, scoring twice in the final 1:07 of regulation. LGI

  9. Good morning team! Gil, I would certainly say this was a pretty great weekend for the team. Except for the 1st period with the Caps, they held there own the rest of the game, and they did out play Columbus last night. I think both wins were deserving, and I was glad to see the team fight for both wins. I would consider the season to be a success if we can play NHL .500 hockey, and I'd be tickled if we come end the season better than that. Schaefer is clutch, and so much fun to watch. I know I say it a lot, but he absolutely is fun to watch, even at his very young age. We have the Bruins coming up again, and I already have my fingers crossed for a good showing. Another awesome episode, Sir. Thank you for what you do. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  10. Great Game but honestly We got super lucky 🍀 Jackets had their 3rd goal taken away from them and we are extremely fortunate. When Pulock pushed the Jackets forward into Ritt and Ritt falls back as jacket’s put the puck in the net. That was 3 to 1 Jackets. Referee calls incidental, contact and no goal. How Lucky 🍀 was That for the outcome of this game. Perhaps only me seen it as a good goal 🥅 for the Jackets. Thankfully we got the hockey gods to sway a call our way! No doubt Schaefer is our New Potvin! A true elite stand out Dman who’s skating and skills are off the charts. The Hockey gods gave The Islanders the gift of 1 st overall and Darche did not waiver taking Schaefer. If the Islanders can find consistency and play the way they did the last 2 games no reason they can’t get a playoff spot. They must keep up this level of play! Lots of rumbling of dealing JGP now with Ritchie in the Fold. I am likely the only one against this . Zeeker is the weak link! Kyle Mac 🖥️ even. Who is replacing JGP in the dot on faceoffs? Who is your new PK guy who with Holmstrom is a threat to score on the PK. JGP is only turning 33 on November 11. If fans don’t see the value of JGP to this team they will see it when he is traded and we lose one of the best faceoff players in the league. Darche needs to think hard on this one. Lee yes deal him! Zeeker trade him! Kyle Mac …. Praying Darche sees the value JGP has to this team. It is in Darche’s hands. Meantime we need to play hard and consistent! Go Islanders

  11. Absolutely sit Duclair and put Shabanov in…to me, this is a no-brainer! Also, sit McClean and put Gatcomb back in.

  12. A problem you rarely have Gil is picking a goat. I like that problem for a change…. LGI

  13. Told everyone Holmstrom would keep improving, He is on pace for 55 points and is responsible, great on STs and can be trusted on the Ice in crunch time, People are overlooking His accent to a very valuable top 6 type Player

  14. I like it! I like it a lot! The kids tied and won the game for us, in dramatic fashion. Coming from behind, in the last two minutes is gutsy. Schaefer and Holmstrom have the eye of the tiger. Rising up, back on the street. I'll beat this dead horse until a body guard is brought in to protect Matthew Schaefer. We need to protect him. He's valuable. Exciting win. Happy to see Ritchie in the lineup as well. The top two lines should be as follows: Horvat/Drouin/Heinemen. Barzal/Tsyplakov/Shabanov.

  15. Duclair needs to sit or be traded. Maclean doesn’t impress me. Good skater, but what else can he do? Here’s two spots for Ritchie and Shabanov.
