If I was the Flames or a Flames fan I would want to lose every game by one or more to guarantee a sure thing top 3 pick for being the worst team. For most teams in the NHL wins are meaningless and will not help them get closer to a cup and only hurts them in the draft. There is a few exceptions of course where winning builds the foundation to cup or a really good chance at one but there is teams like the leafs and wings where I do not think any wins really help them.

This was tough. The sharks were due for a loss but the game plan tonight just read "Yaroslav Askarov". They played slow, couldn't put very many passes together, and generated very little offense. I'm glad that Askarov's save percentage will go up after tonight and be safely over .900. Easiest shutout Dustin Wolf will ever have in his career. Hopefully they bounce back next time against Seattle.
Thats what I expected from Sharks. Win against top teams and lose to garbage teams
Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley both allegedly grew up as Sharks fans. Easy to cheer for them both when they not playing the Sharks.
Askarov continued his streak of just 1-2 goals allowed per game, only to watch the offense evaporate and look lost all game. Onto the next one.
As a Sharks fan it is impressive how full the arena was being that the flames are the "worst" team.
