  1. I remember no too long ago Leafs had bottom six players that could skate and played hard all game long. Marner, Kerfoot, Mikheyev, Engval, Kapenen, Kampf, Gardener, Dermott, Kash Minten, Steves. The Leafs were great, all were run out by the toxic fans and media.

  2. Imagine the blowouts if the leafs had an NHL number of shots each game. They’ve got to be the the league leader in goals to shots ratio.

  3. Don't worry Steve MLSE has a new partnership with the WWE so they can make even more money and that's what's important. They don't really seem to care about Leaf fans.

  4. This team is so awful, everyone on tv were praising them for the point. Nobody on SN mentioning that leafs stole a point and I don’t think the leafs shot clock was ever brought up. Dangle talks about overly cheerful broadcasters here too.

That was just weird. They celebrated this as a victory whereas you can see the team is dying and doesn’t care about anything.

If Kings didn’t throw them a bone by way of icings and mercy giveaways to hardworking McMann, I don’t see the leafs skating the puck into the O zone ever. The fresh players jumping onto the ice were going straight into d-zone to ‘kill’ the 5 on 5 before passing to the next man up.

  5. Despite the loss, since his Rookie season the Leafs have an all time record of 47-24-3 (including 2-0 in the 2024 Playoffs,) without Matthews & sport a +53 Goal Differential…. Do with that information what you will, fellow Leafs Fans

Side Note: although still a winning record, the Leafs are 29-25-7 (+7 Goal Differential) without Mitch ~ including this season as well cuz why not

  6. I think we should try and convince Nashville to trade us Stamkos.

They are pretty close to trying to tank for McKenna and Stamkos's value is at a low. But I think the JT connection may make it worth their while.

So whats Nashville want? Young players with some skill, but nobody who is gonna light it up if they are tanking. No salary can be retained either.

Stamkos to Toronto for Robertson + Rielly. Need Rielly to go back for salary reasons. Not sure how much more we will need to add. Brad needs to get on the phone

  7. let's blame Mitch Marner and have some of the fans dump garbage on his lawn and have the media, YouTubers and experts pick at his shortcomings (after all hockey is an individual sport) until he is forced to leave his town, then take JT's captaincy away from him and with his salary coming off the books and the higher salary cap we can then go get some really high end players, (my God, Mechelli, Roy, Jashoua and more) then obviously and more importantly we will have much greater team chemistry, talent and more hunger, and if Austin is injured we will go on a winning streak anyway and when he is back, he be back scoring fifty to seventy goals a season. No pressure, I am telling you folks, we are going to go all the way very very soon. If this doesn't work, lets go after Brube, Austin and Willy.

  8. Every year….
Hyman, Kadri, Marner, many others. Thanks for the great return Leafs!
And why is the team substandard lol

  9. i feel for Steve. He expected them to be alright and now they are not. which is way more painful than knowing they are going to be bad before the season.

  10. Maybe I’m overdramatic, but is anyone getting a 2014-15 feel with this team, where after the potential & a great step forward in 2013, they took a bigger step back & before we knew it it was the beginning of the end?¿

  11. The only team that doesn't have set lines for years …. screw the blender…. also they cant play Berube style…..they arent THAT team. and they look like a misfits never knowing who will be playing with who. Yep they STINK as a TEAM. I dont think they even like each other. And those little men shut down when they get yelled at…. recalling the babcock days…..we are a bunch of prima donnas or guys that are just meh!….Whats worse? meh or prima donnas that lack effort ?

  12. I prefer to stay positive. It wasn’t a great game, but compared to the last few we watched, it was a step in the right direction. There were some encouraging signs. At this point I think that’s what the team needs to do. They know a lot of things aren’t going well, everyone and their dog won’t let them forget it. I think it’s time for them to take a moment, look at the things they are doing right, and build on from them. As Steve said, there are so many games left, and we are the 4th best scoring team in the nhl right now. If we can figure out our defence issue and get it back to where it was last year, we will be fine.

  13. Stevie.Stevie,Stevie, there is still time to save your soul. Turn back from the darkness and walk towards the light. Gods team will welcome you into hockey heaven on earth with open arms. You can defeat this virus that invects leaf fans and their media. God created the game of hockey and created the greatest player in all the games history in his own image ,his name is Gordie. So please Steve, do the right thing and welcome the Redwings into your life and feel what its like to be part of the greatest team in all of hockey worldwide. Your wife and children will thank you and not be embarassed when seen in public with you. I know you can do this. I was 7yrs old in 69 when I overcame the virus so I know you can do it too

  14. You're right, they're paid millions to play a game.

Maybe we should all stop cheering millionaires that do nothing for us.

  15. Yep… no question what the issue is. MATHEWS. need I say it again,? They shoulda traded this soft, weak uninspired often injured bum, and NOT marner. Do u get it now folks?? He is allergic to blue paint and afraid of anything resembling a corner. And he is my Captain??? By the lard tundering lads what a boneheaded decision that was. TRADE MATHEWS NOW AND GET THE TEAM BACK!!! and give the C back to Tavarez where it belongs.

  16. As a guy reasonably paid in the GTA, i will never go to a leafs game. 'Maybe' a senators game cause I have family in Ottawa. But 1000 Canadian dollars for lower bowl seats is insanity in Toronto.

I have and will always much rather pay 1000 dollar plane ticket to Europe, than pay for 1 leafs game. (obviously it equates to 2000 because of a return ticket… But so is 2 seats at Scotia bank arena.)

  17. So you want Matthews and co. (The rest of the core) get bailed out once again by getting their THIRD COACH fired? Gas the coach but guess what, the players on the ice put the pucks in the net. Maybe this core group, no no, maybe THE CAPTAIN isnt a captain, isnt a winner, doesnt have what it takes to do whatever he needs to win! Its a trickle down effect. My captain doesnt want to put it all on the line, neither am I.

Went from a hard a** coach, to a leaned back, skill first coach, to now a hard a** coach that likes to use skill with size and won with skill and size(like coach #1). No no, you gas the coach youre telling your players its not their fault. IT IS 1000% ON THE PLAYERS. This core does not deserve another chance with a different coach.

  18. Is Steve finally realizing what the rest of the world already knows? The Leafs are a trash org from top to bottom and nothing will EVER change that?

  19. This pressure narrative is bullshit. Which other market will still sell out no matter what, even when the team is garbage? Still buy their jerseys when they play like ass? Follow them through sports purgatory and hell, and back to the rink? We love the leafs. I hate this pressure narrative. Such a cop out for shitty play.

  20. Steve, we know you don’t want to hear this, but rearranging furniture on the Titanic is not going to save it. It will take years of future drafting…properly…developing them…properly…and later coaching them…properly…to rebuild this team…properly. Beyond that, there is no hope of seeing the Leafs win the Cup anytime soon. The Leafs may not have any first round draft picks in the next two years, but they have second and third round picks. Good organizations draft well in the mid rounds, too, not just the first rounds. We know this will be a slow rebuild, but again, you have to start somewhere… Yes, you may be able to trade some guys to help the Leafs somewhat now, but trades alone will not help a lot. There are simply too many holes to fill on this Leafs team with trades alone…
