   In a vacuum, really great week for the wings. 5 of 6 points with a couple wins over good teams. 2nd in the Atlantic at the moment. Larkin, ray, and cat look amazing. But boy, does that Sabres loss leave a bad taste your mouth or what? Hopefully they keep this momentum rolling into next week. LGRW

   With how the Lions played this Reekend, I’m super happy the Wings got 3/4 points. Disappointing to mess up that Buffalo game, but overall, it’s good.

   27:52 Brian your 100% wrong and need to rewatch the holding call. The Rangers player was holding the stick and preventing the Red Wing from making a play on the puck. The puck then came back to the player who had not let go and was still holding his stick forcing the Red Wing player to drop his stick to prevent a call against. The Ref's got that one correct, it was not a make up call.

   The wings collapsing in the D-zone is hard to watch. Clean breakouts have been a struggle & missed assignments cost us every time. Todd has the ability to get the most out of the guys and optimisitic he'll improve our chances this year for the PO's. JT needs to bury his breakaways too!

    I hate how Brian starts every episode by asking “whats your difference maker?” It’s such a stupid question and you can tell Scott hates answering it most of the time. Why not just ask his thoughts on the game?

    I get why players don't want to go to the net. I play pickup with my son, and he was told by a local junior coach that he has an NHL shot. Also used to play with Al Iafrate's cousin, who had a great shot (good genes) and used to occasionally break the glass behind the net with it. It takes big cojones to stand in there with an NHL shot coming from the point and a D-man pushing you or leaning on you.

    But I guess when you're getting paid 100's of thousands or millions of dollars to play, you go to the net.

    Gibson made 2-3 huge game changing saves in the first period against Buffalo. It’s not true that he’s not making big important saves.

    Talbot has gotten the game after the team gets talked to by the coach almost every time. This has made him look better because the team plays way better after those talks.

    Why did the Rangers primarily focus on mobbing Larkin when he didn't even take the shot?!? Appleton takes the shot, Quick goes at him, the rest of the Rangers seize the opportunity to gang beat our Captain. I love some fights and scrums, but seeing him in the middle of 5-6 Rangers pissed me off a bit.

    Probably their best game all season tonight. I thought they were going to implode again. But man, they need much more from any forward not named Raymond, Larkin, Cat or Kane. That 2nd line has no chemistry. Finnie is fading. Maybe he should go to GR and get some confidence back. And Compher as a 2C is a train wreck. I hoped Kasper could fill that void. He's on a major sophomore slump. Danielson is not ready.

    What do you think is going on with Seider on the blue line? He used to prevent almost everything from getting by him on the PP. This season, he's bobbling it and causing shorthanded breakaways. I don't get the regression.

    Redwings are 1 point out of first in the division and have a winning home and away record. More importantly (for me), they haven't let a losing streak go more than 3 games. Overall it's a good start to the season.

    I didn't see the game against Buffalo so I don't want to come out and rip Gibson's goal tending. But I think it is fair to say he needs to styep up his game. Talbot looked good against the Rangers. I juust don't have the confidence in Gibson as I do in Talbot. Ray L

    Quick was amazing for the Rangers yesterday. The Wings played a very strong game on both offense abnd defense. Quick kept it as close as possible. The Wings are fortunate that they didn't score more goals because they would likely fall apart. I don't understand why Quick reacted as he did to the empty net goal attempt at the end of the game. But the guy has had a great career and a great game. Thank you guys. Ray L

    So does anyone think Quick deserves a suspension since he actively left the bench in sole purpuse to pick a fight? I would say no at first, but the way Witkowski got 10 games suspension you can argue was simular situation (in Witkowski case he got slashed when he already had got into the bench and then goated into coming back out there when he got speared once he turned around, he actually tried to leave TWICE but got punched in the back of his head from the bench once he was about to leave after ref eventually told him to…)

    What was Quick's reason, other then acting as a child? I know it's not exactly the same but hear me out… I just remember the conversation after the Witkowski thing happened (it was simular to the degree of what happened on the ice, which was not much, just a few players hugging it out and no real punches thrown) that these rules are enforced to avoid more then 5 players each on the ice fighting and these bench clear brawls from the 70/80s etc the "new NHL" don't want…

    The Witkowski thing wasnt though from what i can remember that he was specifically "told to leave the ice" and after that he "choose" to ignore it and therefore it was a clear cut suspension? Which is the explanation i got after asking this question after the game last night… No, from what I remember and see watching back on it all, it was simply that he entered the ice as an "extra", it wasnt during any type of play… This happened during a TV commercial break and Witkowski was leaving the penalty box after he had ragdolled a Calgary player in a fight, and he had JUST stepped his skates onto the bench when someone standing on the ice (Tkachuk) cowardly took a shot at him (tapped him with his stick when he already was off ice) while yapping and challenged him… Here is the video and reasoning behind it, they first said it was a "gray area" and should not be a suspension, but it eventually was simply because he entered the ice in purpuse for altercation, that's it. —-> https://youtu.be/kn-UEQB-pVg?si=cZHnq2ezwS6hlt1c

    So if Tkachuk would have had the balls to do that while he was still on the ice (meaning skating from the penalty box towards the bench), there would have been no suspension (which the Tkachuk rat likely knew and why he did it to goat a player with a heckuva less salary then him to get a suspension and a large part of his salary removed), right? That is the explanation i was given at the time from the Detroit broadcast group… That as soon as a player steps into the bench, you are not allowed to enter the ice in any altercation, the purpuse of this is again to avoid these bench clearing brawls…

    Sure, it's not the very same situation but it kind of where in a way, no? The game was over, there is no play. Quick had no reason to leave the bench to start a fight? And don't give me the explanation "well why was Detroit team out on the ice", it's not the same… Players usually comes out on the ice after a game is over to go to the goalie and give him a pat, the goalie was already on the bench so… What reason did Quick have to go on the ice? He even removed his helmet before doing so looking for a fight… After the game ends and there is no goalie left on the ice, players just leave for their dressing rooms, which you do as the home team from the bench area, only the road team has to go on the ice to enter their part of the visiting team dressing room, which in most arenas are located on the other side of the rink (in the corner behind your goalie) that you have to skate out on the ice to enter…

    So again, i understand people will be saying that these situations are wildly diffrent but think it COULD be applied while it obviously isnt the very exact scenario… I only remember how the suspension got explained to me and it was purely because you are not allowed to be in any scrums once you are on the bench, period. Which i interpret in this simply; once you have left the ice during a play, which in Witkowski case was the moment he stepped onto the bench from the box, that counted as leaving "the play on the ice", and in Quick's case he left "the play on the ice" when he got to the bench for an extra skater… Again, sure it's not the exact same situation but still i thought the Witkowski suspension was really, REALLY silly because he litterly just took a step on the ice to defend himself for a second because he was attacked and aggrevated, he didn't do it out of nowhere just to start crap, he got provoked into it from one of the leauges biggest agitators in Tkachuk… Quick had ZERO reason whatsoever to enter the ice when he was already on the bench and it was obviously with a purpuse when he even removed his helmet before it (getting ready to fight)…

    Am i so far off based here in making the comparassion? I'll add this before i get jumped for being "soft" or whatever guys who still are living in the broadway bullies 70's days and think everything that doesn't completly kill a person on the ice should be allowed lol… I would NOT think this is worthy of a suspension IF the Witkowski one didn’t happen… But he got suspended for something really silly and i would argue that suspension was less entended then Quick going out there with a purpuse when nobody else had a thought about it, while Witkowski was basically hounded and provoked into the situation…

    Just my observations… Sorry for the long text, its just how my hyperactive ADHD brain works lol… Anyways, f*ck the Rangers, great team road win! #LGRW

    Overall we exactly where we were before Stevie came back I c no change. NO BIG D hard hitting D-man no one with the nuts to call these kids out for bs play. Edvison Johanson nigar even Raymond pelika ok d wise but nothing on offense at all .no hitting once again . embarrassing win over SJ and cider and his crappy play , has he hit anyone yet ? I mean come on al.osy 40 GOALS 8 games are you kidding me happy about what 40 in 8 games look at where we were before last 8 games

    I had a fiend that was a musician, and seemingly couldn't enjoy listening to music because he would critique what he was listening too, I worked as a chef, and also lacked the capacity to enjoy eating my meal at a restaurant because I would critique the food. You guys obviously can't just enjoy a Red Wings Game without nitpicking the win or lose.

    The scariest part about this whole game was they understand the system now. Now that they understand the system they're having fun and that's trickling into their creative side that's making a lot of creative passes and shots. That was a really fun game to watch.
