Management and the leadership core should be catching the smoke right now… but that’s not how it works unfortunately.

I haven't been happy with the coach this season, which sucks, Knoblauch has probably been the best coach we've had in the McDavid era. But one thing I notice is the longer a coach is here eventually they just start going McDavid n' Draisaitl in every situation. Those two lead the league in ice time for forwards right now by a decent amount. Complain about the depth players not contributing, but how are they supposed to when they spend most of the game watching from the bench, and every time there's a chance to score it's guess who over the boards even if they're just coming off a 2 minute shift.

Knobs has lost the room. Also the players aren't happy with management not changing the goaltending.
They were lucky to win yesterday and thought they would be much better tonight. This team has issues big time from top to bottom.
If ya'll want a new coach i believe DeBoer is available. A coach that has faced EDM so would have a relatively educated outside view that could be beneficial. And a coach who has also faced and defeated the strong teams in the playoffs and would have that experience to provide as well.

No way. Knoblauch isn't the problem. We all know the problem. Goaltending. The players don't have confidence in goaltending so they hold back from their offensive prowess.

I don’t think he’s even close to his way out, the coaches can only do so much if the players do go out and even try. Hiring a new coach won’t fix that.
It’s the players that have to perform. Can’t keep firing coaches if the players aren’t trying. Really wish we didn’t sign Bouchard

Of course it’s not just the coaches fault or just skinner’s fault. The couch can tinker with his lineup up and down and try things. He can take away a guy’s ice time. Drop him to the 3rd or 4th line. Hi can mix up defence pairing. He has options. Skinner. Well he is what you get. Only option is Picard. One or the other. If both are not bonified # 1s you are hooped. It has been obvious Skinner is not the guy for a few years now.

Just a thought this. As an Oilers player? Do you think guys are talking about this exact subject. Guy have to be talking about this right? It's a different team, and the results are very drastic from last year! Well we have noone to blame but the organization it self. They seem to dismantle this team year after year with hopes of something great! We'll guess what its not working.

I have to wonder if McDavid is difficult to coach, and despite his obvious massive talent, perhaps he shouldn’t have the C.
Look at Colorado. MacKinnon is crazy talented, but even while Landeskog was out, he didn’t get the C. While Landy was gone, MacKinnon was sort of the leader by default, and the Avs didn’t play to their full potential. Sometimes you need a guy to rein in and mitigate the hyper-talented superstar. Who is that guy in Edmonton?
Knoblauch has no respect from the players. Time for him to find another job. Seriously. Either that, or some of their top guys have to sit.
Said this a few weeks ago now. Yes, Kris has lost the room. Nobody is buying in to his coaching anymore.
As for Bouchard and Skinner. They are problems. There is no forgetting that for me. Bouchard's 15 goals a year, doesn't offset the 80+ he single handedly contributes to against, with his comically idiotic turnovers, bad passes, and downright blunders.
Stu Skinner. I don't even know where to begin with this guy. He had to bailed out multiple times in both SCF he was dragged to by this team. He is openly mocked by opposing team's commentators, in hilariously blunt fashion. He costs countless games with this terrible lateral movement, and downright being a sieve, all the while, laughing under his mask at times.
Fire Knobs. Trade Bouch. Buyout Skinner.

The coach is absolutely not the problem. The GM has done a terrible job of selling players and has sold many good players. The team is simply not good enough at the moment, and the coach can't do a miracle.
A scheduled loss wake up everyone they absolutely suck they don’t have it. Enough of the excuses they are not doing enough.

We need to lose Skinner. Put pickard in number one. Send skinner to Bakersfield and bring up Ingram. He will never recover in the minors. A condition stint for skinner is needed. Ingram is a great goalie. Skinner is our new Jack Campbell. I don’t get why the oilers don’t get that they need goal tending to win the cup. FFS trade Skinner Pickard and nurse for the likes of Hellybuck or some one that wants to win a cup. Oilers will never win until they fix the goaltending issue. Defence suffers because of nurse. Need to lose him. He is on the ice when most goals are scored against. He gives the puck away more than anyone, even Penner. The only thing that will get Connor’s cup is a goaltender. That’s why the panthers beat us twice. We will never win the cup with skinner. Gave him the benefit of doubt last season because he had a new born at home but he sucks this year. Bring up Ingram demote skinner to conditioning on condors and make Pickard backup. No more One / Two A. And then squire a legitimate Starter. Only way to bring the cup home.
