Was just regaling my very interested wife ( 😅) with Kevin Stevens lore this weekend on our drive back from Stockholm. On rosters whose lunatic levels of star power should not have been possible, he achieved stat lines that were extraterrestrial. You're not supposed to have that many goals and points AND that many penalty minutes!!!
Jerry's biggest test will be about halfway through the season when Jerry struggles that's when it starts

Jarry more than Silovs? What are we doing DK. You should know just as most of us do, Jarry can't stay consistent. He did well in what 15 games down the stretch and now had a decent 7 games to start? What sample size are we talking about here. He'll step on the rake soon enough. We need him to play this year so that Murashov can stay the guy in Wilkes and if he does well, great but his track record is consistently the same. I'll believe when I see it

Hey DK, your description of McGroarty sounds like a current player on the team to me. Not the fastest, good shot but not great, his playmaking is so so at times, not the most physical, he likes to pull up at the blue line and dump the puck no matter the situation, is he a legit line one guy, well no………but with the right player he seems to get points……its Rust…the right player is Sid. I really haven't seen enough of McGroarty to have an opinion, but physicality will go a long way on this team, just look at the impact Clifton has had. If McGroarty can bring some sandpaper to the lineup and find those soft spots, make plays and finish, and be inserted in the top six where he will succeed, than I am excited for him to be called up.
With Sam Poulin being called up, and possibly playing with SId, I am interested on seeing what he can do. I think everyone has waited for this kid to make some sort of impact and has always been flat in the NHL, to me this is kind of his last strike to show he belongs in the NHL or is just a good AHL player.
Whenever Jarry speaks i always see anxiety in his face. It's hard to always be at your best when you're battling anxiety problems. I dunno thats just what ive noticed, and im usualy good at reading people. In regards to McGroarty, at least we have a guy that says "like..like..like…like" all the time to take Geno's place in the future. So thats one thing covered.
Jarry just said in his post practice interview that his injuries from a couple years sidetracked him for about a year. I’m hoping now with those injuries the past he can keep up the good play.

With Jarry save % is VERY misleading. The goals he gives up are at the worst moments..he's just not clutch at all..never has been. How many chances does this guy get? What did Murasov do wrong that he isnt in the mix? I say roll with Silovs and Murasov. That seems to be working so far…why the rush to bring Jarry back? Just to see if they can get some money for him? Get them some help with a good left handed d man..or two.
I think when you look at McGroarty you can see a young leader. Wearing the C for USA in Juniors means something. He doesn’t need to be the team leading scorer, leave that the Kindel lol. But there’s a calmness and quiet strength to Rutger’s game that I like, and like you said DK it’s very difficult to describe.
I’m good on Jarry. Play him to trade him. Sergei is the guy when he’s ready. Silovs can hold it down for now.
