Nathan Walker also was credited with an SOG… which makes it even worse.. not only he did not scored that goal, he did not have a shot on goal… its the same thing with goals that deflects off of a goalie, (or any player, any situation) from behind the net pass to front of the net.. how that can be a shot on goal, when the player is behind the net????? passing.. PASSING… the puck.
Automatic shot on goal stats must end, also, automatic assists, first and secondary.. Even this season (seasons before),..
i have seen secondary assists given (official stats) after the opponent has touched the puck, after the initial pass.. by the player who got the secondary assist Primary assists even, your opponent haves a control, touch on the puck.. that's always unassisted goal.
stop giving assists like candy to players.
Stop this shot on goal stat madness, when there is no SHOT ON GOAL!!!.
PS. NHL also needs to fix goalie save stats as well

It boths me that own goals count against the goalie save %, but dont count as a shot on net, and also a rando from the other team gets the point on their record for a goal they didnt actually score.

As a Blues fan if we lost the 2019 finals, we'd be in a FAR worse place than the leafs as a franchise. We'd be worse than North American franchises like the Browns, New York Jets, Hornets, etc. because now we're staring a grueling 5-10 year rebuild right in the face. Just like the Red Wings, Sens, Sabres, Sharks and Blackhawks have all gone through, Holy smokes I'm even more grateful we got that cup now.
Maybe we will be like the blues now we have the same coach. Go to bottom of the league and then win the cup !! I've waited since 67 . Yes I've seen the leafs win a cup. I want again !!

Kids what ever you do not swing at a puck over your head for more than a couple reasons.
1. You will stop play causing a faceoff
2. You can hit a player in the face a receive a penalty
3 . You can miss or hit to a opposing player causing a turn over
4 You can score on your own net just ask Nylander.
