Yikes, my Wings…I liked a couple of things, but they're overshadowed. Breakaways are great, but Sorokin's a stud, we gotta move it around to get him out of position, and he even kept up with Kane when he had his try. He gets that first shot, every time, we gotta get them second chances and gritty goals on him. Like…line changes looked rough from the highlights, missed responsibilities and confusion all over, we gotta be winning more face offs with Danielson, sloppy and dangerous giveaways that can't happen. They capitalized, and executed great, but I'll be damned if we didn't give them…3 golden opportunities? Maybe 4? It looked intense in the 1st, and we just collapsed. We looked busch league, stretch passes, no possession just firing off a shot or pass. I know I want us to make and take more 1 timers and quick touches, but that's not just firing it up ice at the first opportunity. Does that come back to line changes? Are we gassing ourselves, getting roughed up by their game early, and then playing tired hockey?
I wish Gibson had some better looks, but I wasn't that disappointed by his performance, even with 5 against him. 1 of those quick face off wins I REALLY think he should have had, and I do think a great goaltender would have been able to keep it looking competitive on paper. He might have been the catalyst for the downfall tonight, but there's blame enough to go around.

Detroit announcers don’t bother to learn the roster of the opponents. They sound like two eighty year olds calling the game from the clubhouse of the senior center. One exclaiming how Shabanov was having a “career night” against the unfortunate Red Wings ( it was his ninth game in the NHL).
Another horror show at home.
It'll be 10 seasons without a postseason at this rate.
