They scored zero goals and you’re blaming the goalie. Gibson hasn’t been great but we haven’t played well in front of him. NY dominated us.
Wings have a tendency to play better than the other team for the first 4 minutes until they get stoned by the goalie, then they make a mistake that immediately leads to a goal and then suddenly thebice tilts. I can only imagine the players are in their own heads when this happens nearly every time gibson plays, because after that first goal the gsme was pretty much over and you could see it in the wings skating, it went from hustle to skatter brained and hesitant.

Its amazing people dont realize the difference between einning and losing in the nhl is confidence and good habbits. Mclellan has not had a full season to beat good habbits in these players heads and people thinknits gonna happen sooner, and then you think a team is gonna play free and not hesitant when your goalie lets in a goal on nearly every mistake made? Put yourself in the players shoes: your goalie cant stop your mistakes so you overthink the game and worry about mistakes which makes you hesitant, which then causes you to make more mistakes, which then causes frustration, which then causes more mistakes that become intentional because you cant smack your goalie for playing so bad so you take a fumb penalty then another and before you know it its 5-0. This game is way faster than fans appreciate and one mistake can lead to a lot when you have a crap goalie and young players still learning good habbits.
It’s pretty clear the Wings traded for a goalie ( Gibson) whose best days are long gone. Unfortunately the Redwings look more like a .500 team than a playoff contender. They looked bad.
Does anyone have a real argument for not calling up Cossa and making Gibson a healthy scratch for a few games?

Put Gibby in on Saturday and play a good game to give him some confidence and we’ll be fine. I can’t emphasize how important confidence is to a goalie.

If you can't even score a goal, I don't care about the ones that you wish Gibson had been able to save. He's not there to work miracles until the team figures out how to play hockey. He's supposed to be the last line of defense, but the way this team plays in front of him. So far as here, he's almost the only defense.

They need to send Gibson down to GR. With the contract they signed him too and his performance on the ice, he should clear waivers. I personally would trade his ASS, or just take the loss and cut him.
bad coaching, players felt like they wanted to just watch their own terrible game, gibson proves to be another goalie bust like NED aka Husso, why we trade MRazek for him, who knows. It's time to give gibson the husso treatment, send him down, bring up Cossa, John Leonard, Mazur and Tralmaks, send down elmer, berrgren, the time is now, not then. I really can't understand why Todd, who should be fired, left Gibson in, the guy couldn't save a shot from blue line.

If we want playoffs, we need to cut off the hand that is gangrene before it spreads, call up Cossa, and give him his shot. Now, if we want to try to make Gibson work, then fine, let's ride that out til the wheels fall off, and have the boys reserve their mid-April tee times now and hope we win the draft lottery. Either way, we need to get this sorted.
