  1. It would be funny if canucks traded for Phil Kessel. It would be funny seeing him and Beagle battle it out in Mario Kart.

The 11th overall pick in 2007, had a long and successful career. The 6'3 Centre was known for his gritty defensive game. He played in 770 NHL games with the Hurricanes, Penguins and the Canucks. Sutter finishes his career with 289 career points.

Sutter hadn't played pro hockey since the 2020-2021 season on the Canucks. In that shortened season, Sutter suffered from Long-Covid, which kept him from the team. This season, he attempted a return with the Oilers before stepping away from the game.

Sutter said, "I'm grateful for the opportunity that Ken, Jay and the Oilers organization have provided to me…It would be best if you were 100 percent healthy to compete in the NHL. Although my health continues to improve, considering my health and family, I am officially retiring from hockey."

While Sutter's playing career is over, it will be interesting to see if he joins the NHL on the management side in the future. I doubt this will be the last time we see Sutter a part of an NHL team.
