    I don't believe Marner left TO bc he wanted to play with Eichel over Matthews. I doubt that unless the two of them didn't get along behind the scenes. Marner was complaining a lot about the fans stalking him. Though it sounds more like the guy got involved with the wrong ppl. Personal level or professional. The harassment that was reported sounded like it was too personal. Not something fans would do. Yes players do experience harassment from fans but what he was saying sounds it was more personal. Just my opinion though.

    Trade everyone to the teams dumb enough to hire Chiarelli and Burkie. Also fire Tree, and most of the front office. (Idiots that sign off/support his dumb moves). Get a real good goalie so Berube's strategy of getting caved doesnt look so bad. Or fire him and hire a blow up doll. 😂😂😂

    The notion Matthews can’t play without Marner ignores the FACT that he’s 1.27 points per game in games without Marner vs 1.15 with Marner!

    The Leafs haven’t had an elite GM in his prime since 1991-97 Cliff Fletcher. When you compare the best teams the last decade vs Toronto in terms of GM/FO moves, depth outside the top 4-5 best players, defense, culture, goaltending etc it’s not close!

    Keep blaming some of the best players in Leafs his history ever though!

    1-6 on the road with a 4.57 GA/GP and they have already played 15 games at home with a pretty soft schedule.

    Effort isn’t a cop out. It’s actually a given. That’s at least one thing you can do when you aren’t very good. Wanna try and stay in a game. Work your ass off.

    This Leaf defense was apprantly good enough to won the division last year but somehow they’ve become bush keague this year. Could it be that the forwards on this team are terrible at backchecking and don’t care? Mariner picked up the slack for guys like Willy, Tavares and Domi who didn’t care. And when you add guys like Macelli (and lose Marner) to those defensively challenged forwards then there is extreme pressure on the defense to compensate and they’re taking all the blame when the forwards are just as guilty.

    JD,… brother what Mitch got no credit for was how HE ran the room…. he ran the music, he was the cheerleader talking guys up! The guys, including Mathews, miss him…. and everyone realized if Mitch can be allowed/encouraged to leave,,,, anyone can!
